View Full Version : Weird, Uncomfy, inner body experience!

Ok, so Im having a weird, uncomfy, what I would like to call inner body experience. I have been raw now about 2 weeks (not counting) with only a couple of minor slip ups, that I am not even going to mention because im about moving forward and not dwelling on the past.
Anyway!, I feel that I have reached a point where I am starting to recognize how my body feels. Well..My body feels like my new house did when I tried to stuff 3000sq ft worth of stuff into a 800sq ft house. or like, before I moved when the movers began moving stuff and then quit in the middle of the job!
Basically, I feel really backed up. I feel like my body was trying to move a lot of waste out, and the movers just left in the middle of the job and now its all just sitting in my belly. I am not bloated, I just feel full to the gills. BUT, I am experiencing true hunger (stomach grumbling, nausea causing, hunger). I am also making very unsatisfying BM's. So im not completely backed up, I just really do feel like I am. Maybe it was all the rice I used to eat (about 2-3 cups of uncooked rice a day, which is MANY MANY MORE CUPS when cooked, because of my allergies).
What should I do? I feel like my digestive track went on vacation, at a very, very bad time........:o

Have you tried getting a colonic done?

Water. Do you drink enough water? Water flushes the gunk out...
I wake up, pee, take my dogs outside, come back in and drink a quart of water. Within minutes I am having to "go". Try it...you figure we fast all night and this is a GR8 "motivator" for the bowels...

I am not really sure I would ever consider getting a colonic done! and I cannot exactly pinpoint why! ....but something tells me, to say I would never. lol
eh. so that means you wouldn't self-administer an enema, too?
i agree with veganforlife. drink some water. it helps flush out your system. plus, go for long walks. it'll get your lymphatic system moving. :)
what have you been eating?

I find flax seed to be a very moving experience.
Either make some crackers, or add some ground up flax seed to your smoothies.

I felt that way before I had one done. The idea kind of grossed me out. My naturopath recommended one over two (three?) years ago. I finally went and got a series a couple of months ago and I really like how light they made me feel.
Drinking lots of water helps too! I drink a glass of water with lemon first thing in the morning. I do some stretches and off to the bathroom I go!

I might administer myself an enema......I am probably not drinking enough water! ...I pee too much as is, so...its kind of hard! ....I will try your idea Lucy!
and maybe the enema Oai...thanks pal! lol
no prob., bud. ;)
also, if you decide to use an enema, don't get the fleet kind. get the reusable bag kind. be gentle.
soldier on. :p

You could try an herbal colon cleanse. My cravings have gone down quite a bit since I had one, and I even lost some weight. Might help with the stuffy feeling...
I second the flax seed suggestion, btw. That stuff is amazing!

I second the walking thing. I get all outta whack if i miss my walks for a couple days. A nice, 30-min walk cures so many things!

Make that a big ol' green smoothie with a couple of tablespoons of chia seeds, daily. I thought flax seeds were really good, but really, in terms of elimination, chia seeds in my smoothies really do it for me. Since chia seeds are very hydrophilic, they are bulking, and since they have the essential fatty acids in them, they are lubricating like flax seeds are, so no drying harshness like psyllium husks. Make sure you're drinking enough water, and exercising(walking as well as other vigorous exercise) too. There are certain yoga poses that help with massaging the intestines as well, like forward bends and variations on twisting asanas. If all this still doesn't do it the Ayurvedic remedy Triphala is a common laxative, but beneficial in other ways too. I can't say from personal experiences with colonics as I haven't had any myself, but I do know they can really help when the home stuff isn't.

The water totally helped! Its hard to get water down first thing in the morning!! I usually don't drink water (besides about 12oz in my green smoothie) until about noon or 1pm! eeeeek

I KNEW it would ;)
I forget who I learned that secret from, but it makes sense. Our body is fasting all night long and water flushes gunk out, so...
Glad it worked...

Try a salt water flush. Place two teaspoons of sea salt (must be sea salt!) in 32 oz of distilled or spring water. Shake it up and drink it down first thing in the morning. Be sure you have time to release your bowels as it could take up to 2 hours. If nothing is moving an hour after you drink the SWF, drink a liter of water. But don't eat anything until you have completely released everything from your bowels. It will be solid at first and then literally you will release a brown water. The water you consumed earlier. You will then feel clear and light.
For the rest of the day keep it light in terms of eating. Drink juices, make some raw soups, eat mono foods and drink plenty of water which has already been suggested.
Going forward try using probiotics and consuming digestion friendly foods like gingeroot, raw saurkraut, kombucha. Ginger will be really good for you. Add it to your morning smoothies. Will keep your bowels moving.
When you're ready a juice or water fast completed for at least 3-5 days will assist in the healing of your colon and digestive system. Raw foods will do the same, but try to increase your greens consumption. Drink more green smoothies. If doing a juice fast I would stick with green juices initially. I don't know why, this is just what is coming to me for you.
The SWF will provide immediate relief and clear your bowels. But don't abuse it as it flushes the bacteria from your colon which is required for digestion if you do it too much.
I wish you all the best! Keep it Raw. :)
Peace,
Crystal

Nature's solution to pollution is dilution. Raw foods has given me a whole new understanding of water, and how it works in the body.

Take a couple "Quick Colon Cleanse" by Dr. John R. Christopher....you should be able to get it at an herbal store. The capsules are vegan and the herbs are totally raw.
