I got my Blendtec about an hour ago, it's really amazing. I made 2 smoothies and a soup so far and they are perfectly smooth! My 750 watt Breville made very gritty smoothies compared to this. Not only that, the Blendtec makes these silky smooth smoothies in 23 seconds! My Breville took 90-120 seconds to make a gritty smoothie!

And it's not as loud as I expected even on the highest speed.

If you're wondering about getting a Blendtec, get one, you won't regret it. I think it's much better than the Vitamix even though I haven't used a Vitamix because it's stronger, has pre programmed cycles so you can put your ingredients away while the computer takes care of blending, has a pulse feature, and an easy to clean control panel rather than a boxy design with industrial switches, the Vitamix looks like something that was made 100 years ago!

I love my Blendtec!

I can tell your excited and you should be.....I do have to say that I have a vitamix and absolutely LOVE it. It too makes very smooth soups and smoothies etc....my friend has the blendtec and LOVES it. I think they are probably both great....just glad you get to have one.

Can I add my two cents? No? Well, I'm gonna.

I'm glad you like your blendtec and all, but this IS Alissa's FREE forum and she does sell those "antiquated" vita-mixes, which btw - I have one, love it and would not trade it for nothing. I'd give away my food processor before I'd give away my VM!

I just don't think it's proper bad-mouthing a product that Alissa sells and bad-mouthing it on her free forum.

Okay, off my soap box...:D

I never meant to say the Vitamix isn't good, I'm sure it's almost as powerful, I was just saying I really don't like it's boxy/industrial look, and I was surprised to see it lacks a pulse function which I think is important for chunky blends. I didn't mean to say it's not good, I simply think the Blendtec is a better choice due to the added features.

Some people love their Vitamix, some love their Blendtec, both are a valuable asset to the kitchen.

I have a Vitamix, use it several times a day and just love it.

Both are good investments.

Choices and Opinions which mine is glad you like your machine, that is why they make other kind. If you saw the old stainless steel Vita-Mix, Now that one looks like a Time Machine. It has a spout and hinges on each side. I once had one but that was a 100 years ago.:) In Joy.

Hi, what kind of blendtec do you have? I am thinking about getting one and don't know which one to get.
I have a Vitamix 3600 plus that I bought in 1982. I love it but would like to get a blendtec.:D:D

Is there really a 20 amp model? If so it would require rewiring of your house as a normal outlet is limited to around 10-15 amps. I would assume it uses a 240 volt outlet like an oven.

I can assure you the normal blendtec is more than powerful enough.
