Well, I was all excited about preparing lots of raw food for my Thanksgiving guests. I whipped up a yummy double batch of modified Alissa's Flax Crackers. All is well so far. I spread them out on wax paper as usual...this time, I remembered something I read on this forum, so I set the dehydrator a bit higher on the temp scale. I normally put these in when I get home from work, flip and peel and cut up before bed, and in the morning, voila - a big batch of flax crackers. What happened today?? Different schedule, chatting on phone, working on homework, putzing around the house...time to flip - and OMG - they are GLUED to the paper! Hours later...after laying soaking wet paper towels on the paper side of the crackers, I was able to rescue 96%of the crackers VERY carefully, sometimes using tweezers! What a mess! Not the holiday prep I had envisioned!

In retrospect, it was pretty funny!

Any good tales from other board members?

I tried dehydrating something with nutritional yeast. I can't remember now what it was, but it stunk up the house something fierce. I thought someone had gotten sick in here. Eeeew!

I have had the same thing happen to me when using wax paper. I now use parchment paper without any problems at all. It's a little bit more expensive but it's worth it when you know that you won't have any accidents and it's easier to work with.
