I found a link to making raw food cheeses where the end result looks divine!
The author calls for using "probiotics" but was wondering if anyone knew what exactly one could by.

Here's the link:

Also various threads found here in the "Nut Cheese, Cream and Yogurt" section:

I went to the health food store to buy some last night and no-one there had a clue <g>.

Thanks for any tips. :)

Any non-dairy probiotic in a powder or open up a couple of capsules.

I've made the cheeze recipe that you postd (Sunny Raw Kitchen) before. I used a tsp. of miso instead of the pro-biotics, and plain kombucha instead of the rejuvelac.
It came out great.

Thanks, everyone! I was hoping that just about anything would do. But I mostly only see acidophilus for sale. The only product that really has the name probiotics as a name is horribly expensive. With the rest, if it isn't just acidophilus, it says so many billions of other organisms, or something. Anyway, I'm hoping, guessing, that this is a flexible type of thing (?). I'm going to an even better health food store tonight. They know a lot more than the people at this other one ever do and I believe they have more of a variety to choose from. I'll see what they say, too.

Anyway, can't wait to try making these cheezes. I finally was able to buy some "raw" cashews last night. They're supposedly the really raw kind.

Looking forward to the Garlic-Dill cheez. <g>

I'd like to use the probiotics because I feel it will speed up the process and will also allow me to get some into me <g>.

Did anyone take any pictures of their masterpieces? <g>

Thanks.
