I'm traveling to San Marcos in a couple of months and will be there for about 10 days, so I thought I'd check in on any raw restaurants in Austin or San Antonio? I know Whole Foods has added a raw bar in their deli, but it would be nice to have a restaurant experience also.
I saw the post on Aquerelle, which is nice, but I'm not really looking for the high end experience - just someplace to eat for a few of the days I'm in that area. Any suggestions?

Nope, not that I know of. Whole Foods is amazing though and they do have a nice sitting area.

i lived in san antionio for 6 months. i've heard that the one of the wholefoods in austin has a raw food bar and a raw food section. but san antionio has no raw food resturant but the do have a vegitarian resturant.
Yes! I ate at Beets Cafe in Austin this week. It is a Raw Living Foods restaurant, the food is delicious!!! I believe the chef was trained by Alissa Cohen. Beets Cafe is located on 5th street not far from Mopac (loop 1). Bon apetite!

There is a restaurant that just recently opened in San Antonio called Counter Culture. It is located inside the Spectrum Athletic Center at the crossroads of highway 281 and Evans rd. There is a raw food chef there that has extensive experience in making and serving raw food. I myself have been there a few times and the food is great. They do serve cooked items as well.
