I would like to attend a 3-5 day raw food/juice retreat in the next month or two, that would give me the jump-start I seem to need to get back and stay on raw.

Is anyone aware of such a retreat that would cost no more that about $1200?

Has anyone here attended a retreat as a way of becoming/staying grounded with raw?

I googled and found a 3 day detox retreat on Martha's Vineyard, but it would be about $2,000 (plus travel). I wish that I had thought of this earlier so that I would have been able to go to David Wolfe's 7 day retreat in Hawaii after Christmas - Maybe next year for that one.

I am very hopeful that someone here can recommend a good one (or two or three) jump-start type retreat that's within my budget and time restraints.

What part of the Country are you in? Have you thought about taking a Class from one of Alissa's Teachers? There are also Institutes who teach you about RAW and you participate that are usually for cancer patients.

Hey livin -- from living on Martha's Vineyard for a few years and working at a health club/spa, I didn't hear the most positive things about the exact retreat you are referring to! (Not that that means that you couldn't enjoy your time there).

I am in the process of putting together several small retreats that are like what you describe, starting in mid January. I'll post more information soon if you're interested. Feel free to send me a private message if you want some details. :)

Before checking out the link below, check out my interview w/ Aris Latham on Rawkin Radio (http://rawkinradio.com). Then contact him; tell him you heard our interview and see what, if anything, he can/will do for you.

Thanks Eva. - Just read a bit of your blog. I hope you'll be having a retreat in the U.S. I will be requesting more details.

Thanks Revvell.
Yesterday I listened to one of your interviews for the first time - a 2007 interview with Brenda Cobb, which I really enjoyed. I've been trying to saturate my mind with raw and chose to make your podcast the first I listened to on my new iphone.

I just pulled up the interview with Dr. LaTham and will listen to it in a minute, before I go to bed.

In Northern California, Cafe Gratitude has a 6 day cleanse for $665. You could stay in a hotel nearby. Their next one is Dec. 1-5th.

Or, in Santa Monica, Juliano has a daily juice pick up program after a consultation, I believe.

Basically I am putting together a pick up program with a hotel stay. I think that would be fun myself.

You could also hire a raw chef to come to your place and do your food for you.

Hey livin -- Tell me please, if you don't mind... What exactly are you looking for? I just started a thread about this very thing. I am starting up a small business for raw vacations. I LOVE sharing about raw food, and I have made partners in several places, mostly in the southeast (yes, USA) to work with ... but this last step of putting all the information out there is the most difficult so far. I know what I personally like in vacations and learning experiences, but I'm not sure what your needs would be.

I can tell you that I would NOT feel comfortable doing full retreats for a 100% fasting/detox-type program. I do not have the resources to do that well. My plan is to stick with what I know I can do well, which is to share my experience and uncooking and planning strategies, tips, etc. And to plan fun trips at a good price. I'm great at that! LOL. :)
