Do raw shelled hempseeds help with or hinder weight loss? I am thinking of incorporating a fair amount of hempseeds into my diet. But I wonder if they will hinder weight loss like nuts do. Please share your experience.

I eat hempseeds and have lost weight, so I dont think that they would be a problem. They dont feel as "fat" as many other nuts and seeds.
We need fat, but ofcourse in moderation so dont be affraid to use "fatty" foods. Some omegas are essencial and hempseeds contains all of them in a balanced way, so they are a great superfood. If it is because you need more protien, you can use sprouts as a great fat free option. But remember the omegas ;)

I have been using soaked chia seeds in my smoothies. They are a good source of omega-3 and a little protein.

Sometime, you need the good fat in order to lose the bad one.
My recommendation if you are ok with fruits, is to increase your intake of fruits and vegetables. Apparently when we are short of that, we crave for heavier food or get craving all the time. This is a recommendation by dr. Douglas. I must admit that this has been true for me. I always has been a fruit person and loving my fruits in the morning. When i would do this, i would not crave for unhealthy food as much and also when i did exercise, i would crave for healthy food only.
Don't be afraid to eat the good fat but make room for the fruit, vegetable and i would add green. I love my fruits with green and have green smoothies every day.
If you want to add hemp seed, here is a nice recipe that i do for my daughter 1/4 cup of hemp seed, 1 cup 1/4 water, 1 cup of fruit (strawberry usually)and 3-5 banana. Blend everything well. Very creamy and delicious. I make this for me sometime to take to work.
