I know that there are some raw foods that need to be prepped before eating raw ex; Potatoe (sp?) because of toxins in the eyes.

My question is I do alot of herbal teas & treatments etc.Now that I am trying to go raw I need to know if (out of the edible not topical) Are there any herbs that are toxic raw?????????

Sure there are. Which ones would you be referring to specifically?

Might do a google search on them to see if they need to be heated in anyway before indulging also.

NOPE, all culinary herbs can be eaten raw.

There are many parts of "normal" plants that are toxic, like rhubarb leaves, (go figure) but ALL culinary herbs are fine raw.

We grow tons of herbs here, (part of one of our businesses) and they are perfectly fine to eat raw.

Thank you Ladies, and Revvell I will Google For more info. The question did pertain to common herbs.

Well, you mentioned "treatment" which to me means medicinal ~ tinctures and teas ~ not "culinary". There is definitely a difference.

Good luck in your search. :)

You're correct Revvell on how I asked the ? in the intial thread.

Yes I use tinctures and teas for medicinal purposes. I hit the realization a few days ago that herbal treatments (for whatever) are no longer going to be a trip to the Health food store. And I guess I stressed too early and asked the question w/o thinking it through. " Speaking w/o thinking is like shooting w/o taking aim" author unknown

I started growing culinary herbs that I use for medicinal reasons (crushed tarrgaon & water on abbrasions) .

I decided that I will still buy what I've been using, organic of course and use the sun tea jar to soak it.

I re-read my post and it sounds rude which is not me at all, I need & respect all input that you all take the time to post.

I wish you a great day , and wonderful week :D :D :D :D

Hi Dawn,

No, not rude at all. As I keep telling people, it's all in their perception and I did not perceive anything you've said here as rude.

You also have a great day and wonder-filled life. :)
