Ok, so get ready and plan it out. What are you going to juice?
My husbands favorite saying – plan to fail, fail to plan – We got a case of oranges, a case of grapefruit, a case of cucumbers and a bunch of greens.

Hey Alissa and flutterfly!
Oh, gosh.. I need this! I am on my way to Costco to buy the juicer they have been flaunting at my poor pocket book...I just got a bonus from work and it will be just enough to cover it! I will also pick up some oranges, grapefruit and greens. I am so excited! I started my challenge a few days ago, but I have gone a stray a few times and I was feeling down about it. So this will be my revival! Oh, Alissa... I live in North San Diego county and I was wondering which raw food restaurants you have tried... I know there is one in Chula Vista but I haven't gotten down there yet. Any tips?? I hope you are enjoying southern CA- it truly is Heavan on Earth!
Love...

Ok, guys, thatÂ’s great! Im so excited to start. I may go for a long time! WeÂ’ll see though, i like to eat too much!
The best restaurant bar none is au lack in Fountain Valley. If you havenÂ’t gone there you have to!!! They have all vegetarian Chinese food but there is a guy there, ito, who makes raw and they have a big menu. They have fried rice, risotto, this dish called de la mama, and his soups are like nothing you have ever had!!! I have a friend who keeps wanting us to go to cilantro live in San Diego but havenÂ’t got there yet, but heard it was amazing also.
Ok, enough about food, this is about fasting! No more talk about food! :o
Ill write everything i juice each day....

lol good timing Alissa! I decided last week to do a Orange juice fast. Might just do oranges and grapefruit since these are 2 of my favorite juices. :)
I have never really done a juice fast for very long so being 47 thought it was about time. :D
Is 7 to 14 days a good time to detox some stuff?

ok, i am IN! I need one too. I messed up on the 30 day challenge so this will start me off right!! WHHOOOHHH!! Ok, so i have half a case of organic oranges and will order more so i am ready to go! I know the 1st 3 days are the hardest so we will need each other real bad for the next couple of days!! I will post my juicing here to and how i am feeling.

Would you folks do me a favor and post where you get cases or boxes of oranges, have your local grocer order them for you or farmers markets or what? Thanks!

10-24-2004, 10:48 PM
i get my local store to order the 40lb boxes--usually takes a few days and they give them to me at cost or less than cost. Right now they are more expensive than all summer. They cost me $45cdn./box but we juice them on our electric juicer every day to use in smoothies and to drink straight up and they are so good and so worth it! I bought my electric juicer at a 2nd hand store for $9cdn and got a manual one for 25cents at a garage sale--i take it with me when i am fasting with some oranges so i can juice them when i need to.

I messed up on my 30 days, too (bad couple of days I'm not proud about). I'm in, too! Right now I have tangerines, watermelon, greens, cukes, tomatoes, apples, a beet, carrots, and ginger. That should be a good start. :)
Yay!

Ok guys, so here we go. Im up early this morning, 3:30 am (i know, way too early!) i donÂ’t usually watch TV, but last night i was watching the red sox with Dennis and the TV put me to sleep around 9 so here i am talking to the only people i know who will be up at this hour!
Hey Curtis, i get my cases at mothers market, (like whole foods or wild oats, etc...) they usually give you something off like 10%... 7-14 days is great! I usually just go until i feel like i have had enough. What normally happens is that the first 3 days are the hardest and then you donÂ’t feel hungry after that. Usually ill know when to break a fast because i get hungry again, really hungry and start craving things like a salad or something like that. So i try to listen to it... id like to do a really long one, but sometimes i have a hard time focusing on a long fast. Your mind tends to be clearer and i always feel like i have a ton more energy but i find it hard to sit at a computer or do detailed work. I tend to want to be outside more or more active. WeÂ’ll see, ill keep you posted on that...oh yeah, i have watermelon also. Im very excited about the cuc's. I always feel so good after drinking cucumber juice. It almost mellows me out and has this euphoric type of feeling, must be all the minerals.
Ok, so so far we have me ;) + flutterfly,FEELIN'GOOD,Curtis, corky, vegbabyÂ… any other takers?
Monday morning, you guys ready??!!?!?!?!
this is for real now, no excuses!

Divine intervention is what this thread is. Everything for me lately had been guiding me to fast until something happens and I have been fooling around with it. I leave on Thursday for a women's retreat and had planned to take juice with me and now I have to because I am joining you right now -this is so on time for me - we are packing to move and I was procrastinating and like some have said - I haven't been a raw foodist, I have been a foodist that eats sime raw stuff. Sooooooooo, good morning raw friends - I will have an apple beet, cuke and kale juice first, cause that is what I have on hand. Actually, I will be juicing whatever is left here as to avoid buying anything until after we move.
What a way to get ready for a new life RAW -a retreat which almost always yields a new attitude, a new home, and a positive new lifesyle -
Bless you Alissa for being used to encourage all of us. :D

This is so great. I have never had so much support in my life. Thanks to all of you.
I have a Dr. appointment this morning so don't drink much more than lemon water until I get home. Will get the juicer ready for when I return. Fresh ginger is OK isn't it? I like that in some of my juices.
Alissa
10-25-2004, 06:27 AM
Yep, ginger is great! Good for circulation. Anyone gets cold on the fast, add a little ginger.

Daaaang yall...I've never seen fasting look so GOOD! I want to join in if I may. I will go for 7 days.
I currently have on-hand: apples, pears, greens, celery, tomato, oranges and lemons.
Okay I need to ask a few questions if I may:
1. When juicing oranges for a juice fast, are you juicing them in a citrus juicer or putting them through a power juicer?
2. When you juice fast, is the idea to not attempt to drink juice all day long, but rather to try not to eat/drink anything as long as you can and then drink the juice as you feel you NEED it?
4. Can smoothies be used during a juice fast or is that too much fiber?
Thanks!
Curtis
10-25-2004, 07:42 AM
Thanks Alissa,
I can get them out Whole Foods will find out about getting a box or crate of them. I started this morning with oranges and am using them all day today and drinking water thru out the day to.
Have a great day people, let's do this!! :)

Sounds great Curtis, we're on our way!
Yeah! Rawkinlocs!!! Sure you can join in! Anyone can at anytime by the way!
Ok, so for your questions. There are soooo many ways and trains of thought about how to do a juice fast. I use an electric juicer to juice them but you can peal them and put them through a juicer as well. ItÂ’s easy just to juice them by hand or use one of the little electric ones though. We use that for lemons and oranges and grapefruits. If anyone wants to one you can buy it anywhere for 10-15 bucks.
You can drink the juice whenever you need to. For me itÂ’s in between. Waiting until your really hungry is not a good idea. But you donÂ’t have to drink a ton of juice and force it down throughout the day either. I just juice as soon as i start to feel hungry and want it. Some days i do a lot (especially at first so i make sure i donÂ’t get overly hungry) and then i find i donÂ’t need as much as the days go on.
No smoothies, just juice, any kind though is fine!
So glad your joining us!!! :D
Yeah!
Rawkinlocs
10-25-2004, 09:20 AM
thanks Alissa!
I do have a citrus juicer (electric) so I'll utilize that as well. Do you, personally, mix your orange juice with water or drink it as is?
Alissa
10-25-2004, 09:26 AM
I drink it as is most times but on a fast I do dilute it if its too sweet for me after a while... I also mix orange and grapefruit as the fast goes on because it gets too sweet for me.
Alissa
10-25-2004, 09:29 AM
Hi fightyorke, great!!! YouÂ’re in!
Yes juicing with a hand juicer will work, whatever gets the juice out!
Just listen to when you hungry, donÂ’t stuff yourself, that is too much!
No whole fruit, no smoothies, just juice!
Alissa
10-25-2004, 09:52 AM
Ok, worked out, did shoulders and 1/2 hour cardio and now my hubby is making the juices (i know im a lucky women) i forgot how to use my juicers... he's a lot neater then i am and cant stand when im in there making a mess with them. So he has taken over the job??? I donÂ’t think ill be complaining! He usually makes us our green drink in the mornings and all the juices and I make the food!
Ok, i wasnÂ’t in the mood for a green drink so im having an oj with some grapefruit, not really even hungry yet, its only 8:00 here but i may go out for a walk soon...

Hi everyone,
Well, just been drinking lotsa water so far. Almost 10am and going to do some fresh organic OJ in my electric juicer. I will give some to my kids at the same time. So far so good but the hard part will be around supper time as i prepare dinner. Its all mental i know but it is still hard. I wanted to get out in nature today but it is absolutely pouring here on beautiful Vancouver Island so i guess i will walk my treadmill. Good for you Alissa for working out!!

10-25-2004, 11:55 AM
So far so good with me too! Had oj/lemon juice earlier. It's been a few hours and I just juiced up a handful of spinach, two stalks of celery, a pear and an apple. It was good! A little too sweet, so I cut it with a little water...but other than that, pretty tasty. I read somewhere once that celery is a natural appetite suppresant, don't know how true, but it added a nice little "zing" to the juice!
I am really PEEING a LOT!! WHOA!

You guys can totally do this!!! Just remember the first 2 days are the hardest...total euphoria after that! Drink a lot! If you feel hungry drink more juice! Make sure you always have juice with you. I'd make 2-3 days worth and freeze it and carry frozen juice with me everywhere I went...I'd drink it as it thawed. It's so easy to carry in an insulated lunch bag to work, or throw in a little backpack.
Curtis
10-25-2004, 01:21 PM

I just had orange juice for my mid morning snack and just had it for lunch to. Drinking water at work in between. So far going good, will keep you posted. Alissa do you continue to exercise on a juice fast?

Just checking in. I am doing fine on the fast so far.I do have a little headache but I am sure that will go away. I am drinking a lot of lemon water along with juices. Right now I am very happy that I don't have a family I have to fix a meal for. Keep up the good work!

OK, very tempting lunch! I reheated these potato fry things i buy at the store for my family for lunch--cooked with like a shake and bake crunchy coating--i know all totally bad, but i crave these more than choc. or ice cream!! They are my demise--BUT even though they are on the table right now and my family is eating them i came here so as not to eat them but it is KILLING me at the moment. I am not hungry, i just had my 2nd large glass of OJ but its just the psych. thing that i want them because i know they taste good but i know that when i eat them i feel heavy and awful. I always feel clear and light and never heavy when i eat raw--never sluggish like when i eat the little cooked food i do--but those darn fries. So if i am craving those, what should i eat more of after the fast? What could i substitute for those darn things. I feel better just being here away from the table--but i still have to go clear it off--better go drink more water!! I'll check in at supper!

CORKY! Girrrlll, don't come up in here giving such VIVID descriptions of food!!! (grrrr) LOL! :p
But seriously, I understand where you're coming from with the tempations of foods around the house. Umph...I bought these garbage bags that are (of all things) VANILLA scented and each time I walk through the kitchen, I smell this vanilla that smells like cookies or something!
You're so right, this food thing is SO psyche-related 'til it aint even funny!
But I, too, am hanging on in there. I'm not hungry in the least, just the whole mental thing of wanting to eat something. I plan to do some veggie juice later on without anything sweet added because I found myself diluting my juices with water 'cause they were so sweet.
I have a very, VERY slight headache, and I feel sleepy/tired. Other than that, I'm good!

There is a book that you should be able to get from the Library that has helped me a lot over the years. I have met the man that wrote it, he is from Wisconsin. "Beating The Food Giant" by Paul Stitt. He explains why you are so hooked on junk food. What the big companys put in the food to make you be addicted to it. He really blows the lid off all of that. It would be a great one to read while fasting if anyone is interested

Hi all!
So far so good for me... I have had about 2 glasses of fresh OJ, some grapefruit & lemon water, and some yummy carrot juice. I am not suffering like I thought I would! Infact, this is my first time having carrot juice, and I love it! I am going to try to drink just water until 6 then have some more OJ I guess, that's all I have. I wasn't able to get my juicer because CostCo was closed early on Sunday...I will get it tomorrow for sure... I do have enough to get by tonight and in the morning... No side effects yet... I just feel clean! Good luck and keep it strong!
Oh, Alissa, I know you said any juice is okay, but does that include those yummy young coconuts, juice only of course...????

Yes, those are ok. Some say the coconut water is too sweet when fasting, but you'll be getting a lot of electrolytes from it.
Jalapeno and OJ hu? Interesting!
Ok where are the rest of you? You all still on it!????
Im going to bed really really early as i was up at 3:00 am this morning. soooo
Here is what i had today.
My glasses are 27 ounces btw
One OJ
2 cucumbers
1 watermelon
I just sucked down a few glasses of water since i had NONE all day.
Took a walk but never got to play hoop as i got too busy and stuck at my desk.
Night all, happy fasting dreams....
I expect to see all your happy fasting post when i wake up in the morning!
1 day down and raring to go!

10-25-2004, 07:59 PM
I took a nap around 4:30-ish and when I woke up, it was little after 7! I guess my body really needed that rest!
When I got up, felt fine, but a little while after that I began to feel hungry. So, I juiced half a tomato, stalk of celery, slice or two of yellow bell pepper, and a handful of spinach. I added a dash or two of sea salt to it and it was palatable.
After that, I then desired something sweet so I made some apple juice.
Right now, I'm not hungry, but feeling just a tad bit weak. The faint headache is gone, though and I am fighting the battle of solid food because of the smells and sight of food around me. But I'm holding fast and hanging in there. I think that although I had that late nap, I'm still going to try and turn in no later than 10:00 so I won't have to fight these desires too long.
Plan to go to the fruit market in the morning to stock up on some more items, probably more apples, grapes, oranges, tomatoes, carrots and spinach. Oh, and I'm sure I'll get some cucumbers too so I can see if what Alissa says 'bout 'em is true! :p
Forgot...I've been drinking water too. Not a lot, but drinking some.

Sorry for the late write - I just got back from having the best massage ever - what a way to have a fast with a massage. Drank mixed veggie and apples today. Hubby has packed the juicers because we are moving - so earlier I was about ready to start again when I move - which is 11/01, however, he upacked for me and I will start tomorrow with carrot, apple and ginger juice - actually I am taking a quart with me tomorrow to my office. I also will have thai coconut juice as well. I'll check in with you guys tomorrow. I need to drink more water. In the past, I would drink something every hour alternating with the water - I think I will try that tomorrow to ensure that I get in some water. I have a little swelling, and had fatigue earlier - well see. Blood sugar was up as well, I expect it will change by Wednesday - no exercise today. Shooting for cardio in the a.m.

Alissa, thanks for that support and encouragement!!!
Everyone, GREAT going...we're gonna DO this thang yall!
I also wanted to say, if you're not eliminating properly, please be sure to either incorporate enemas or sea salt flushes (you have to decide on your own judgement which one if either because they BOTH receive both positive reactions and negative ones from various sources *shrugs)
But I reported in my last post feeling a little weak...after doing an enema I felt SOOO much better and that weak feeling went away. Remember your body is needing to get rid of those toxins or else they stay in you and make you feel bad. So, if your body isn't getting them out on it's own, you may need to "help" it along a little bit to avoid getting/feeling too sick!

Hi Guys! I woke up thinking the same thing that rawkinlocs is saying. ItÂ’s so important to get the toxins out of you. If you are having a headache and feeling sluggish an enema will help. Im not big into the salt flush. I donÂ’t think its good for you at all. But see for yourselves...
Yeah!!! Day 2! I just got back from the gym, its only 6.00 am here. Going to go meditate for 45 minutes and then make an OJ. I was informed that we are doing a large green drink as well after that. Yippee.
Actually i know ill feel good from it! sooo.... another day! WHOOO HOOOOO!

Wow alissa, 6 a.m.! How fortunate you are to have a gym that is open all night.
Well, everyone here has pumped me up to also join the fast. I am starting 1st thing tomorrow morning since I have already munched on some veggies today and it will give me a chance to grab some more produce.
I have to tell you al that I really feel an incredible energy coming from this thread. Looking forward to posting tomorrow.
2 questions!
1. I have heard people say that they juice with thier vitamix. I am curious about this because I feel as though you are still getting all of the pulp. As I right. Is this too much fiber for a fast?
2. Is the Breville good as juicing leafy greens also or mostly just fruit?

10-26-2004, 08:53 AM
Hey Todd, jump in anytime!
I know you'll bring a lot of encouragement to this thread, as you are an experienced faster!
Rawjojo -welcome! No vitamix - just juice.
A breville is awesome for fruits, you can do greens but its not the best for it, you should use a Samson or green star for greens.
The breville is so great! We just started using ours and put whole (really large ones i may add) cucumbers into it yesterday. You donÂ’t even have to cut them up. It may not seem like a big deal but its huge! You just put the whole thing right into it; it takes a whole tomato, and a whole small apple the chutes so big!
Ok, look forward to seeing the two of you here with us!

Good Morning everyone! Drank a big glass of water and will wait till 9am to have my OJ. Still a slight headache. Nice to see the others here! Good job everyone. We are selling our house and are just listing today and have our 1st buyer lined up for 5pm so there is lots to do for that so hopefully that will keep my mind off food. I don't have a juicer so i can only do the OJ. Will look into getting one soon so i can get my greens!

Checking In. I have killer gas - that's right go straight to the point. I am already at work, so when I get home, enema if my elimination doesn't pick-up.
I had tomatoes, apples, sweet bell peppers, and red grapes juice. In about 30 minutes I having coconut juice - right now it is too cold, so I am waiting for it to become room temp.
Slight headache and a little fatigue - I will be great though ;) , cause this is needed

Gooooood Morning all!
Day 1 is down and I am so proud of myself and all of you! I didn't check in last night because I crashed on the couch with my kiddlings watching Garfield The Movie... (very cute movie by the way!) It was a blessing to go to sleep because my stomach was talking back to me a few times. I did wake up at 1am when my husband came home from work and found me stranded on the couch... we brought the kids to bed and then sat up for a while watching TV. Y'all, I sat there and sipped OJ while my husband gobbled up udon! I really have to thank all of you because I do feel so much support here... I feel like I would be letting you down and more so myself down if I didn't do this. Esspecially on my goof up of the challenge...
As for side effects, I haven't had any unless you count the nasty words coming from my stomach! I have been eliminating just fine... especially within the first 5 hours of the fast... No headache. I have had GF juice, OJ, Carrot juice that is awesome, and I tried some of Smasty's Hot & Spicy OJ! Wow, I laughed so hard with the first taste because it was so spicy! I kinda didn't pay attention to the amount I used... plus I used Habinaro sauce, which is so hot! Anyway, I choked when it hit my tounge and then it went straight out of my nose... YIKES. I don't think I have anymore nose hairs! But it was really, really good! It took away the salty craving I was having for food... it really did me good! Thanks a bunch Smasty because I am going to whip up another, less 'potent' potion of yours later in the day...
Going to get my juicer today... But I have about 6 oranges left to juice before I go...
Good luck to all! Have a fantabulos day!

Hi again... I wanted to say thank you Alissa for the tip on that restaurant in Fountain Vally... next day off my husband WILL take me there! And also for the green light on the Coconut juice.. boy I love those!!! I will not over do it... just one when I need a special treat.
For everyone else- Here's a link to Jay Kordich- he is the 'Juiceman" you always see on TV. This short little biography was very inspiring to me, and I thought it was appropriate to share since we are all doing this fast... check it out- 2 minutes of reading will give you a little boost, I promise!

Hi all,
I'm not doing the juice fast (have done one in the past). I'm trying to increase my raw eating at this time so as to go 100% starting Nov. 1st for the 30 day raw challenge.
I have been reading this thread and you all made the freshly squeezed OJ sound so good, so I ran downstairs and I found my last 3 organic oranges and squeezed them. My grandson and I drank it down and both of us wanted more. So I'm off to Wild Oats to get some more Oranges!
Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey yall,
Good to see you all here and still going strong! I had a 2-hour nap and woke up feeling hungry and a little weak...just a little. But, I made some apple, grape, carrot, cucumber, bokchoy, spinach juice and I'm sipping on that and feeling better with each sip...it's really good juice! I was trying to decide if I wanted sweet veggie juice or regular veggie juice and decided on sweet for now and regular will come later.
My kids are even in there juicing (although they're not fasting) but that's cool. Maybe one of these 'old days!
YECK!!! - My son just comes in here with his own concotion...apple-lemon for me to taste! ZOWIE that's tart!! What is it about these kids and this sour stuff? They have all this sour candy and gum and whatever out now-a-days. Awful!
Anyways, I'll check in later...keep up the great work yall! WE are victorious!!

oh my god, IM STARVING . I have a ton of phone calls to make and orders to ship and im hungry. Ughghgh...ok, i didnÂ’t drink my full green drink. Maybe thatÂ’s why. Ill drink it now.
Glad you guys are here. I would feel really bad if I wimped out and all of you were doing this! Dennis just said to me 'look at the raw guru, crying on her computer about being hungry, you shouldnÂ’t tell them how hungry you are, your suppose to be the one that started the fast!Â’ HA!! I donÂ’t care, I feel that I can share with all of you and not have to pretend that im not hungry! I AM hungry!!!
Ok, I feel better.

ROTFLMBO! You all are funny!
Corky and Rawjojo, yeah the kids are pretty good if I must say so myself. It helps to have a 13 year old and a 12 year old to help with the younger ones. But what usually happens is, when my youngest takes his nap and if I'm tired and don't have tons to do, I'll nap with him. I don't even really normally take naps like this...but I know that while fasting resting is important (if you can that is) so I take advantage of it when I can!
Alissa: Even raw gurus are entitled to get hungry while fasting! I'm glad you shared that with us as well because to me, it keeps you 'grounded' and not "above the rest of us" like some of the "gurus" out there, ya know? I like it when famous folks can be real and down to earth!
I had to have another juice not too long ago because I was feeling hungry too...I was actually feeling the temptation to eat something coming on...STRONG! But I sipped on my apple/grape/carrot juice and I'm okay now. But the smell of food in the air, the bananas on the table, the grapes in the fridge...hopefully at the end of this I'll have a greater appreciate for RAW foods.

I will start my juice fast on Sunday, Oct 31st. I plan on doing it for 7 days. But if you guys go past 7 days I will also! Alissa, of course your hungry! Its a fast..LOL. It will pass. Rawkinlocs, I know what you mean about the smells. Everytime that would happen I would pray and drink until I was full. I guess everyone is different, but when I do the fast, I drink at least 32oz at a time (sometimes up to 64oz). Of course, I go to the bathroom alot, but it keeps the fast going.
Peace.

Who isn't hungry? I think making it throught the first day was the hardest... The spicy OJ really is great guys! I'm shocked at how it has helped me get through these afternoons when I'm really wanting munchie, salty stuff.
Anyway, it is pass 3 here and I'm going to do the water thing until 6 then do a cool coconut after I work out.
Take care guys...

I am holding on to my last 12 oz of juice  - my hubby (he loves me, he loves me , yes, he loves me!) repacked my juicer (I know he loves me) I plan to dilute this so I can stretch it for the night.
I realize I have procrastinated :o and I have to go on travel Thursday, but the juicer! actually I am sorta kinda okay because I am still procrastinating because I have to let go of some stuff and if he doesn't step in - we would be up a creek and I am not going to be here to really help. You know as I think about it, I have a real great guy!
I plan to drink water for a bit with lemon - we do have one paring knife out. However, for those of you who are going to start next week, I will rejoin you on Monday Nov 1 upon rising. DH says he will have the juicers unpacked on the counter for me to begin and he will even go out to get me veggies and fruit on Saturday from the Amish market - told you he loved me :p
I have been thinking about just buying juice from the store  any thoughts on that? I know it is not raw. If I don't do that, I will eat 100% raw salads through this time with the raw dressing that I made
I have had the o.j with jalepno's - man it is so good and refreshing. I too have needed a nap as well, and today, I had some insights, so not to rush my life away, I can't wait for Monday.
Todd, you were right the toxins - just know that I am toxic and the book by Bernard Jensen has nothing on what is going on inside of me. Don't want to provide TMI.
I am still going to be here, prayfully drinking! :o

I will do some more OJ soon and i am drinking lots of water. I haven't had time to cook for anyone today so i don't have to deal with any smells!! So i will check in a little later and see how you are all doing. Hang in there!!

Hey everyone, I'm on Mongolia time, so I just woke up to my second day! YIPPPEEEE! Yesterday was good, felt energetic all day and not deprived at all. Then around 5:00 after drinking fruit juice all day I made some cucumber tomato juice because I was craving something salty. Then an hour later I made dinner for the family, and I started to feel very irritated. I realized it was a combination of the cooked food smells and my blood sugar dropping, so I made some watermelon juice and was ok after that! Went to bed hungry but woke up not hungry at all. I was able to stay home all day yesterday, and lo and behold, my massage therapist showed up - what a blessing! For the first time in four years I fell asleep during my massage. :)
So, wish me luck today. I'll be at the homeschool co-op with my daughter all day and teaching a class this afternoon. I've made lots of watermelon apple juice to take with me!

Well, just finished my 30-minute Tae-Bo workout and now I'm having my final juice for the night - carrot/tomato/bell pepper/celery. It's good! I'm enjoying it. I did put a dash of sea salt in it and instead of using a straw as I normally do, I'm using a spoon and it's like I'm having soup! That idea is really helping me get it down to think of it as veggie soup as opposed to veggie juice!
Onward to day 3 yall!!! It's been challenging no doubt, but I'm glad and very grateful to have gotten this far!

Hi all,
Had my oj for this evening and doing good. A little sluggish at work today but other than that no headache or anything else! A question for all you "fasting experts" :) Sore joints is this a sign of detox? Had some this afternoon.
Alissa wow all I can say is you are a special young lady that has not let her success go to her head to share with us like you do. :) Thank you so much for being honest and real with us.
Great job everyone! Day 3 is in our grasp and we are winning!! Have a nice evening and see you all on day 3!!

Well, its 630pm my time and just finished a large OJ. Showed my house, was nervous but again kept me from wanting to eat. Now making supper of course i 'want' to eat out of habit but when i think about it i know i am not actually hungry. I know after this i will really want to stay raw. I have to get Alissa's cookbook!! Everyone seems to enjoy it. So thats it from me, i have to pee!!

I'm so happy to see everyone doing well!!! (and to answer your question Alissa...YES! But I won't go into specifics!)
It's great seeing Rawkin-L listening to her body and taking a nap. You'll feel pockets of intense energy where you think you can run a marathon...then you'll feel times that you just need to roll up in a ball for awhile. If you can honor both you'll be happy. Be active when you have the euphoria (and you WILL experience it!). Slowdown when you have the urge.
Hey, I've seen several comments about salt craving...I found adding lots of celery juice to veggie combos gives you the salty taste in the juice that you might be seeking, I've been told celery has a lot of sodium.
I'm still contemplating joining you on Saturday!
Keep up the good work! You guys are doing great!
Alissa
