Hello, few questions.

Any simple recipes?
The reason for behind this is basically my laziness, which is one of the main reasons for me looking at this diet to begin with. I would love the idea of being able to live healthily without having to cook, and all the preparation involved with your fancy recipes just doesn't appeal to me in the same way fancy cooking doesn't appeal to me.

Any rough guidelines on what I should be eating?
The reason for this is because previously I haven't bothered checking my intake of anything, not that I'm unhealthy (because of food anyway, I could definitely use some more muscle/exercise). It also ties in with not wanting to meticulously monitor what I eat. I would just like a simple outline of what I should be eating to stop any problems.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that people who choose such a diet must already be passionate about their food. I just don't have the inclination to do as much research into it as people here have done and would much rather have some simple things to get and prepare that wouldn't harm me.

How about a salad? You don't have to do much beyond washing and cutting. I don't eat salad dressing. Never liked it. But I might put some fresh salsa or lemon juice on my salad.

Start with whatever greens you like. Top with other vegetables, either whole or cut in pieces. Use stuff like onions, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, cucmuber, etc. You can add some grapes or sliced/diced apple or pear for sweetness. Some people like to add sections of orange or chunks of mango. Then add some nuts for protein. You can also add sprouts.

Or make a corn salad. Cut some corn from the cob, then add onions, peppers, tomatoes, a squeeze of lemon or lime, perhaps a drizzle of coconut or olive oil and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

Make a simple dressing by mashing and then whisking avocado, lemon, olive oil, salt & pepper, garlic/herbs to taste (I keep it simple). You can put this on any chopped vegetable or combination of vegetables. It's great on corn & peppers, peas & mushrooms, lettuce and tomato, or just dolloped into romaine leaves. Use it as a dip for jicama, carrots, celery, or crackers.

If you'll watch Alissa's dvd, you'll see how quick and simple raw can be. She shows lots of quick ideas. Then add her book to your reading and that's all you need to read and watch....you'll be on the road to raw.

Pates are simple. Soaked and sprouted almonds or walnuts or sunflower seeds with lemon juice and parsley in the processor. Roll in romain lettuce. Tasty!

I feel better the simpler I eat.
When I started out raw, my day looked like this:
Large Green Smoothie for breakfast (usu. banana, spinach, berries, then whatever superfoods I cared for - cacao, spirulina, bee pollen... )
Nori Rolls for lunch (so simple: just nori sheets with whatever veg you want, I used avocado, cucumber, carrot, sprouts. Perhaps a little dressing)
Ginormous salad for dinner.
Inbetween, fruit or Larabars for snacks.
