Hello, I am new to this and need all the help I can get...
Has any of you recovered from morbid obesity? And, what did your skin end up looking like?
I have more that 150 lbs to 'release' and I already suffer from severe skin laxity and horrendous stretchmarks; so, I was wondering wether a raw diet - and a more natural lifestyle in general - has the power (and to what extend) to eliminate all this or if I should start preparing and saving up for plastic surgery.
Thank you everyone.

1. What is your opinion on plastic (reconstructive) surgery & its effects on overall health?
2. Would you use any of the following products? Do you find that their less cosmetic approach & composition would befit a raw foodist's lifestyle?
a. Body Lotion by Dr. Loren Pickart (http://store.reverseskinaging.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=51) & more info (http://www.reverseskinaging.com/stretchmarks.html)
b. Body Creme by Dr. Lawrence Moy (http://www.photomedex.com/product.php?pid=134)
c. Body Lotion by Dr. Romulo Mene (http://www.beautyisskindeep.com/86_mene-and-moy_00301.html)
Thank you, ever so much!

Taking MSM powder has helped many people on this board recover their skin elasticity. It is very natural (as far as supplements go) and promotes good health and detoxification.
The raw food diet contains abundant anti-oxidants which will restore your skin to a youthful tightness. If you feel that you really need to put something on topically for your skin, try cocoa butter or vitamin E oil, two natural and relatively inexpensive products that work well. The body lotions that you mentioned above are filled with toxic chemicals, I would avoid them. Also, cosmetic surgery is dangerous and cannot possibly heal your body. Surgery would only cover the symptoms while ignoring the cause.
You have come to the right place! I have heard so many amazing testimonies on this board from folks who have lost hundreds of pounds and achieved glowing radiant health (and tight skin). Try reading Aleesha's blog, for one example.

Most people don't develop stretch marks when losing weight through raw foods. At least those I've talked to.

Check this testimony out ... http://www.greensmoothierevolution.com/
I just came across this yesterday and sent it to my brother in law who has a lot of weight to loose and I had talked to him about green smoothies about a month ago.
Blessings on your journey,

`you get stretch marks fom gaining weight, not losing. The fibers in the skin break down from stretching too quickly. they will eventually become almost colorless and less obvious.

Hi!
I did not lose 150lbs but I have lost and regained 80lbs twice!! ........I have been leveled off at 140lbs for a year or 2 now..........I had really bad stretch marks in the beginning, but they have faded to practically nothing.........
My real issue was loose skin!!! ........I still have some........I am 22...and amazed how my youth did not help me in that department!! with exercise, I am beginning to lose most of it though! ...work on loosing weight safely first!!
Good Luck!!
This forum is very supportive!
