View Full Version : Nut crust sticking to fluted tart pan?

I've seen photos of pretty desserts made with nut crust using a fluted tart pan. I tried one today and my crust is sticking to the pan. I've tried placing it in the freezer and it still will not seperate from the mold. What did I do wrong?

I've read where a lot of people rub a coating of coconut oil (butter) in the pan prior to putting in the crust. Hope that helps. If you have a thin spatula or flat metal cake slicer, can carefull scrape along the bottom and get most off that way and still retain the slice shape (I learned this lesson the hard way, too).
Edited to add: also could try warming the bottom of the pan and see if that releases the crust a little.
