I have been a raw kitchen fanatic lately (having lots of fun with my new kitchen gadgets!) and bringing in my creations to work to share. Plenty of recipe requests! WooHoo! The interesting part is, these are all sailors (I am in the Navy) :) I have a fan club down in the USO!
More and more people I work with are placing orders from the Organic Food Depot (www.organicfooddepot.com) and generally eating more healthy!
I'll be serving lots of raw foods with Thanksgiving dinner (yes, I am cooking a turkey with fixins' - gasp!) but we'll be eating lots of flax crackers and raw corn chips with raw dips for appetizers! Both raw and cooked stuffing (my oyster stuffing rocks!) - I'll be experimenting with stuffing recipes in the upcoming weeks for the grand finale.
My raw foods have been met with great interest - yaaaa!!

That's very cool. Keep spreading the word.
Sorry, but your oyster stuffing doesn't "rock" the oysters... :p

That is a beautiful thing.
I am always amazed that people can cook food for others and stay raw. I can't do that. When I went raw, the kids went with me, and that was that.
Well, turkey and other meaty non-veg stuff wouldn't be at all tempting for me, blecch, but some preparing some cooked vegan stuffing sounds like a recipe (wahhh wahhhh) for disaster to me. Yikes.
Kudos to you - you're a stronger person than I.
Keep on spreading the gospel!

HolyG,
I am not totally raw by any stretch of the imagination (see my intro to the board) BUT, my current dietary intake is at least 60% raw, if not higher. I might do the RAW 30 day challenge in the spring, but not at this time. I am pain free, have no digestive issues, active, feel great, and love lots of different types of food, with healthy raw being close to my faves!

Veganforlife, I totally hear ya. This week I was at a fundraiser and the main dish was chicken. The smell of burning, charred flesh made my skin crawl and I had to leave the building in order not to regurgitate my fresh fruit in front of everyone. I have a highly developed sense of smell anyhow, but now with high raw, the smell was so DISGUSTINGLY BAD!! The place was permeated, like an indoor crematory......
I called my hubby to tell him because I had never experienced the smell of burning flesh like that before and he said, tell me about it, this is what most places have smelled like to me for 32 years....
Honestly, I think if people had to chase down an animal an tear it open with their bare hands and teeth, they'd think more about whether eating that animal was natural. I do not think humans have the instincts to chase down something and devour it whole on the spot.
I know I'm preaching today, but honestly, that smell is just SEARED into my mind and I don't ever what to be around it again. It made me seriously re-think my social situations for the future...

WooHoO!!!!! Congrats :) I wish I could get my friend (who is trying to get into the Navy, per chance) hooked on raw foods. I'm working on my other roommates as well. :)
