I wanted to share this with you all cause this has been a very enlightening week for me.

I've been doing a mono fast. Rather than a traditional fast from eating... I've been eating... only making sure that anything I drink or eat is mono.

What I wanted to share is... not only have I had a lot of weight release during this (been doing it for a week)... but the light, empty feeling we all love when we are fasting on juice or water... well I've had that as well doing this!

A typical day looks like this:

Wake up... a glass or two of pineapple juice or coconut water and the meat from the coconut as well.
Water
Lunch time-ish... a piece or two of fruit (one type as it's a mono fast) and some juice of the same fruit or water
A couple hours later a glass or two of juice
Dinner... a plate of tomatoes or a plate of persimmons... or perhaps a plate of orange slices. (you get the idea right?)
Water for the rest of the evening.

So... on this fast I am not hungry. I am eating. I am still detoxing on it... and have lots of energy.

Thought I'd share what I've been doing...

in light,
Aleesha

It sounds really good, Aleesha. It certainly takes the importance out of eating, and would help the emotional eaters "get over it". I have a minor battle with cooked food right now, but will go back on a juice fast within a few days. Eventually I want to eat just like you currently do. It seems to be the natural way for us. I can see one of my ancestors a few million years ago sitting in a tree and eating a few pieces of fruit, then settling back and taking a nap.:D

It feels really great for my body. I just pigged out on tomatoes with lime juice... and a sprinkling of curry. I can't believe how fresh it tastes! I realize adding lime juice may take the mono out of the meal... but I thought about it and decided it was okay. After all, when it comes to fasting... there are no rules except those we put on ourselves. ;)

Wow, what a cool idea!
I met a guy at a raw food potluck who said he was doing a "food fast." Basically, he's still eating, but just being very, very mindful of what he eats. He's not even raw, didn't now what it was (friends brought him to the event), so it was a revelation to him. I applauded him for bringing more consciousness, mindfulness to his eating. And I love your idea for this mono fast! Thanks for sharing, it's really cool.
