ultrasonic raw, ask your health food store to carry it. Usually they respond well to customers requests.

Ahem... am I correct in assuming that the chickpeas are cooked and the brown rice is cooked before this miso ferments?
So, is this one of those foods that you, as raw foodists, use as a condiment and, so, don't really count it as cooked?
I'm not scolding; I'm truly asking for your views or perceptions -- those of you who use it. I personally use Nama Shoyu occasionally and have been known to use non-raw salad dressing in restaurants and still consider myself purely raw, so I'm not passing judgment.

Yes ,its not raw -but its living. I think its good for people that dont want to use soy products (even fermented ones) -I use it purely for taste......

I use it purely for taste......Well, gosh, I sure hope you're using it for taste! :D Seriously, though, do you mean that you use just a little to add flavoring?

lol! no I prefer miso soup (a staple in my diet) made with the chick pea's ,rather than the soy - its not as bland as mellow white miso ,yet not as strong as dark miso -it makes "mi-so" HAPPY :D

Oh, silly me. Somehow I'd gotten the idea that you were 99-100% raw. That's why I thought you were just using it in salad dressing or to season your veggies or something like that occasionally. I'll bow out of this thread now!!

other than the miso (which again is living) I eat all 'raw' other than the occasional balsalmic vinegar .........

I get mine at my Whole Foods Market! It's the masters miso brand or miso master or something like that... I love it mixed with tahini & a little water as a dressing for sunflower sprouts!
