Raw Carob powder smell..?

Hi ~ We just bought our first bag of organic, raw carob powder yesterday. This morning when I opened the cupboard, I could smell a sour smell and it was coming from the unopened bag of carob powder.

I've never bought/used any before. Is this normal? :confused: I have no idea... Thanks in advance for your help. *Ü*

I've never been able to even smell mine until I open the bag.....so I just opened the container that I keep it in and sniffed and it smells nice and kindoff sweet. I've never had a sour smelling batch.

Thank you Revvell and jacsam. This is definitely spoiled then. Our HFS doesn't have a very fast turnover on lots of items - lesson learned. I appreciate your help. *Ü*
