Hi, Im new here! and im so glad I found this site! I have been struggling with allergies all of my life!

Heres the list, I am allergic to:

SEVERELY ALLERGIC TO ALL NUTS (I usually cannot be near or touched by someone eating them)
seeds (I can tolerate sunflower seeds, but in very small amounts) poppy seeds and sesame seeds are a def. no no
Wheat
dairy
highly allergic to eggs
corn
soy

Basically, I am already living on fruits and vegetables, and rice! I do not eat anything packaged AT ALL. and yes I do cook my veggies... However, I think the raw food lifestyle will really work out great for me.

so Just stopping by to say hello!

I am looking for all of the suggestions I can get! I know I will not be able to eat any of the raw gourmet meals...

Is there anyone in a similiar situation as mine? Will I Survive on just fruits and veggies?

Kicking the rice might be hard, as it is the only "heavy" thing I eat.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Welcome. I bet your allergies will heal (clear up) once you commit to being 100% raw. It could be that they are toxic with the other SAD/CRAP food you eat.

Hi and welcome :)

I have many of the same allergies as you do, and I have to say that some of my allergies has becomed better after I became high raw.

So if you cant eat nuts and seeds; maby you can have hemp seeds ? I do fantastic on hemp seeds, no reactions what so ever. (but go gentley ok?)
You can eat sprouts to get protiens, and somthing like avocado, olives and coldpressed oils from ok fatty foods to get the omegas (essencial). How are you with flaxseeds ? they might be great too.

Green smoothies!!! they will help you get all the nutriens, as they are broken down by the blender and are more easely absorbed. Made by fruit and leafy greens. If you have the posibility then juicing would be great too (green juices).

Im thinking that since you have all thies allergies your digestion is not doing to well. Probiotics, enzymes and antiinflamatories like nettle, garlice and the like would be good. Barleygrass has been a big part im my healing from allergies and digestive disorters. Grasses are great and packed with nutriens, and easy to absorb.

If you feel that you need extra protiens then spirulina is fantastic.

Since you cant eat all the nuts and so on, you might want to check out the 80/10/10 by Douglas Graham. His diet is mostly fruits and greens and a little fatty foods (no need to be nuts or seeds). Then you will get the idear of how to eat (and feel full ;-) and still get a balance of nutriens. It is imortant that you thrive :D

I usaly use zuccinie/squash and flaxcrackers to get the full/heavy feeling, but it is also a matter of habit. You will get use to it and feel full on lighter foods in time. Lots of bananas does the trick too ;-)

Oh and one more advice; remember to rotate what you eat, so you dont eat the same thing all the time (so easy to get into that habit when you have allergies and not much to choose from). When you rotate there is a smaller chance that your body reactes to the food and create an allergie.

WELCOME! I would imagine that your list of "can't eats" would be a bit overwhelming. I believe with some creativity even if you don't eliminate your allergies by going raw (even though a lot of us think you may) you can still eat a satisfying raw diet.

Obviously YES, lots of fruits and veggies which will also include the GREEN SMOOTHIE (if you haven't had one of these yet, there is lots of info on this site). Also, you may want to check out BUCKWHEAT ... Alissa says in her book...

"Buckwheat - Buckwheat is botanically not a grain but a fruit. It is considered a grain though because of the way it looks and tastes. Use only raw buckwheat, not roasted (kasha) or whole buckwheat groats."

I have just recently discovered the magic of sprouting and dehydrating buckwheat it is like a crispy cereal (I made it into granola).

I've got Alissa's book sitting next to me and there are lots of recipes you can make even with your list:

Sweet Potato chips
Cheesy Chips
Watermelon Soup
Carrot Soup
Easy Cucumber Soup
Squash Soup
Zippy Tomato Soup
Red Pepper Soup ... OK, well you get the idea (that's from me flipping through about 30 pages, and her book is HUGE). If I were you, I would buy Alissa's book and I think you will be able to make more "recipes" than you think.

For a time, at least, avocado can help with that heavier feeling and give you some extra calories. I would seriously investigate sprouting other grains, since you can't eat nuts, this would help bulk up your diet a little ... again, Alissa has a whole section in her book just about sprouting. Possibly sprouting things like barley, amaranth, millet, rye berries, wild rice???

Let your creativity flow and read, read, read.

So again, Welcome!

Blessings,
Heather

My friend,

Before I went vegan I had terrible allergies. I was also allergic to dairy, and pretty much everything else. After about 3 months vegan, my allergies almost entirely disappeared. I even have a pet now.

It sounds like you are a pineal driven person. People driven by the pineal gland often have allergies to wheat and dairy. I'm one of them.

Try doing some cleanses like everyone else says. I'm sure it will help out!

:),

James

WOW! I am completely overwhelmed with these responses! (IN A GOOD WAY!)

Lets see...

I do drink green smoothies already!!! ... I also have alissa's book already!! ....I also have green for life and 12 steps to raw!! I have been reading up on this for a while now! Just havent taken the plunge!! completely. I mean, I would say about 70% of my diet is raw. I want to go all the way though!!

I have never had hemp seeds, I am sort of affraid to try... I had to go to the ER a couple of months ago because my boyfriend kissed me after a PB&J!!! my throat closes on a dime!! 4th time he has almost killed me!! HAHAHAHA! he has decided not to eat nuts anymore for me, must be true love! LOL

I will look into buckwheat!

My digestion is ok most of the time! I think its the green smoothies! they clean ya right out!!

I really wish I could thank all of you individually but, my brain is spinning right now!!

THANK YOU ALL!!!!!
