Do you have Alissa's book? She has a soaking/sprouting chart AND an awesome wild rice recipe.

Not sure if you were able to catch the Rawkathon but if you can get a hold of Cherie Soria's interview there is an awesome part in there where she demonstrates and talks about how to soak and bloom wild rice. Those interviews were so awesome but her's in particular was really informative imo. I really want to go out and buy some wild rice so I can try it. :D

in cherie soria's video she explains that you soak the wild rice for 24 hours in water. then you change the water, but leave it soaking (do not drain). you should rinse every 24 hours. it depends on the wild rice as to how long it will take to bloom...i'm sure you can find a pick online of what wild rice looks like once bloomed...and i believe she said that the batch usually triples in size. you can store the bloomed wild rice in the fridge soaking in water and it will keep up to 2 weeks.

are you sure wild rice is a raw product? everyone i have tried to buy it from has told me that its heated to a very high temp after its harvested.
i would LOVE to find a place to buy really RAW wild rice.
wilderness family naturals sells wild rice but they told me its not really raw. and several other places online have told me the same.

SO? where do i get it?

thanx

NOPE! read what you sent me. its parched at 280 degrees !
AND.... i have talked to them about that before and even they didnt realize that was on their website...and said ... gee... well its not raw.

thats why i am asking here where to get REAL RAW wild rice.
even REAL RAW FOODS doesnt have it.
everyone i have talked to does NOT have raw wild rice.

there must be a reason why. if anyone knows where to get it...post it please.
thanx

Yeah... I love and miss wild rice but don't eat it because my understanding is that it's not available raw.
