I lost my cat, Oreo, the one in my Avatar. He went out of the house yesterday morning. I called him like I usually do before work and he didn't come in. Usually if he doesn't come in when I leave for work, he waits on my patio or the front porch. My other cat, Blaize was out too, and she was waiting when I got home, but no Oreo. He still hasn't shown up. I think the coyotes got him.:(
I heard the coyotes this morning.:(

Oh, no. You must be really worried.
:(
I just read a post the other day of someone whose dog had just come back to them after being gone for 3 months, apparently wandering the desert. He came back matted and filthy and covered with cactus needles, but he came back.
I hope Oreo is just on a quick adventure and will be back soon.
Sending prayers and love to you and Oreo. *hugs*
oh no? coyotes?!!! i will be sending good thoughts to oreo!
have you printed out some flyers to post onto poles around your neighborhood? also, some small hand outs to place into people's mailboxes, etc?
when my aunt & uncle lost their ferret one night, they thought they wouldn't find him again, too, esp. since he's so small & edible looking. when we put out flyers, a neighbor called them about an hour or two later.
aw. i hope oreo comes home!

Oh that's very sad! And the reason my my cat never goes out except on a leash. She just doesn't come back for at least a day. Last time she was lost in the woods on Staten Island for 10 days. I had given up on her. It was during the summer heat. We were moving. Were staying in PA with relatives and on the day before we were set to leave there for WA, my neighbor called and she was found in the trap we had set. Much thinner and covered in burrs but okay.
Daughter is blaming herself for that one because she opened the cat carrier to pet her and Maui got out. Now Maui hops in the carrier the minute she sees it. I don't think she wants another ordeal like that one.
I hope that something similar has happened to your cat and he will soon come home.

I'm sorry to hear that your cat is missing. I love cats and over the last 22 years (when we moved to our present house) we have had 31 cats. We live in the country and people are always dropping cats off. One day my daughter was driving down a major road here in the country and she saw a box on the side of the road and it appeared to be wiggling, so she stopped and inside were 7 baby kittens.:( Of course, we kept them all as well as all the others that have wandered in......we let them stay....but not until we get them "fixed". We are proud to say that we "add" but we do not "multiply"! Anyway, one time we had a black cat named "Ebony" (of course, they all had names!:D). He had very distinct markings and a very distinct way about him (they all do!) Anyway, after being here with us for a few years, he disappeared. Of course, we looked high and low for him, but no luck. About NINE months later, he wandered back in just like he had never been gone!! (Yes - we know it was him....remember he had very distinct markings and ways!!! We know it was Ebbie. He looked well fed and cared for....we figure he must have just gone off and lived with someone else for awhile;)! I just wanted to give you some hope that maybe your guy will be back too!

Oh my gosh. I am so sorry to hear this about Oreo. Let's all remember Oreo and the family in our prayers. My gosh. I feel terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I leave my 45 pound dog out during the day, but at night she is inside for sure. I'm around a lot, but still we have cayotes around here too. My gosh!!
Stories here are very encouraging and hope you come forth with one for us to rejoice with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fliers is a great idea. Talk to the neighbors and let them know what's up as so many neighbors don't talk so if the case, great time to meet.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I really appreciate it. If he turns up, I will let you know. I've decided to not let my other cat out any more because the coyotes are acting much bolder these days, I saw them walking down the street early Tuesday evening.

I am so sorry about your kitty=( I have had and lost pets over the years, and I sure know the feeling. I would certainly keep other kitty inside- coyotes are being driven out into the suburbs due to our rapid building, and they think little pets are an easy meal:(
I hope she comes home!

I hope your cat comes back. Many years ago my cat had left for a long time but came back. Sadly, my mom had her killed a few years ago because she no longer felt like taking care of it, not even asking if I would have (which I would). I will never forgive her for that.

I just relocated from s. Cali to north Idaho and brought 2 beautiful cats with me. One is 12 year old male and the other was a baby that we rescued from the road before we left Cali. The baby is a year old now and was left out over night. (we couldn't find her before we went to bed) She went missing and was gone for 8 days. I felt so bad because the weather gets so cold up here. I am used to California and no freezing weather. She woke me up on the 8th morning yelling in my window like she was upset. I had never heard that before. I thought two cats were fighting at first. She yelled at me for two days. She was never vocal before. I sure wish I knew what happened to her and where she was. I was worried about the weather and of course wild animals. My thinking is she climbed in somewhere to get warm and ended up getting stuck. She was very thin but not dirty or hurt. Still don't know but sure glad to have her back. I sure do hope the best for your kitty. They sure are special animals. Lorna
