OMG my bf loves the new oven baked subs from Dominioes ans Pizza Hut. I love living by example especially when it comes to my food ways. I try to eat a similar dish when we r 2gthr. Does any1 think they can come close. Their recipes are simple, pizza bread, marinara, peppers, onions, cheese, and meat ( chicken or beef). So are there any recipies for making a mock chicken patty or a mock beef pattty. I already have Alissa's book, so im playing around w/those. I need suggestions outside of hers. Thanks so much. I will post pics and the final recipe if I can pull this off. I have the power of Raw, I can do anything.
The bread is the hard part for me. I know Rawkinlocs uses a version of Alissa's burger bun recipe so maybe she can help with that part. For the meat you could use portobella mushroom sliced and tossed in olive oil and sea salt then dehydrated to warm and soften. There are lots of marinara recipes to choose from just make sure its thick enough by adding enough dried tomatoes. Alissa has a good moz cheese recipe but any cheese would be good. I prefer to use raw cashews or mac nuts for my cheese with a little garlic, sea salt, and lemon juice. Sometimes I add a little white miso (not raw). You could marinate some peppers and onions with the mushrooms too if you wanted veggies. You could also do a meatball version. For meatballs I usually do soaked walnuts, some onion, celery, italian seasonings, parsley, sea salt, a little olive oil or water to blend in processor and then roll into small balls and dehydrate. Now if we can just conquer the bread recipe. I usually just do onion bread or flax crackers. Its good but its not close to sad bread. Have fun and let us know how it turns out!

taco meat...
Our very own with a book now:
Mattye’s Raw Vegan Tacos and all the fixins!
Inspired by great raw chefs Storm Talifero and Matt Amsden, but living in an area sadly lacking in young coconuts, I decided to come up with my own version of this tasty treat!
Shells = Organic Collard Leaves – whole, but with the thicker portion of the stem cut out
Fixins = chopped tomato, chopped avocado, shredded lettuce, sea salt
Salsas:
Green (mild):
1 tomatillo (quartered)
¼ purple onion
1 tbsp cilantro leaves
juice of ½ lime
sea salt to taste
Place the tomatillo, onion, and cilantro into a food processor – process until finely minced. Spoon into serving bowl and add lime juice and sea salt – stir well and set aside.
Fiery (hot):
3 habanero peppers
¼ purple onion
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp. cilantro leaves
sea salt
olive oil
Place the habanero, onion, garlic, and cilantro into a food processor – process until finely minced. Stir in sea salt and spoon into serving bowl. Drizzle only enough olive oil over it to moisten. Stir well and set aside.
Taco Filling:
1 c. raw brazil nuts (dry, not soaked)
½ purple onion
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
juice of ½ lime
sea salt, black pepper, cayenne, Mexican chili powder, and cumin to taste
Place brazil nuts in a high-powered, clean, dry blender. Blend until nuts are a coarse meal. Place onion, garlic, and olive oil into a food processor and process to a pulp. Place nut meal and onion mixture into a mixing bowl. Add lime juice and seasoning. Mix well. Final consistency should be semi-sticky/semi solid. Set aside
Cashew Sour Cream:
1 c. cashews – soaked for at least 12 hours
2 tbsp raw tahini
1 tbsp olive oil
juice of 1 lemon
water to thin to desired consistency (add 1 TBSP at a time)
sea salt to taste
Place cashews, tahini, olive oil, and lemon juice into a high-powered blender. Begin blending to a thick creamy consistency, adding water if/when necessary. When “cream” has reached your desired texture, transfer to a serving bowl and add sea salt to taste. Mix well.
Assembly:
Use a collard leaf as your base. Fill in a line down the center of the leaf, with taco filling, sour cream, tomatoes, avocados, lettuce and salsa. Fold up like a taco or roll into a burrito shape and devour! YUM!
Caution: These are more filling than they look.

"TACO MEAT ANNA TIPS MARAW Recipe:
1 c soaked walnuts
1/2 c chopped celery
1/4 c minced white onion
1/2 c chopped zucchini
1/4 c water
2 cloves garlic
3 T Braggs
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp minced fresh oregano
Soft Tacos
We had the best soft tacos yet tonight- with a filling that was out of this world!
The little bowl has the secret "meat filling". I used walnuts and grinded them in my mini-grinder.
I added a touch of cumin and 2 squirts of Braggs Aminos.
That is all. It tasted like a beef taco filling. Recipe from "The Complete Book of Raw Food" book. "
