I had it once or twice. Excellent. I just like fast, easy stuff so that I can prep and eat immediately.

Mashed Potatoes....we talked here and may hunt for that in search thread or even a Thanksgiving thread we always have going yearly. Quicker is following:

google "raw mashed potatoes." I saw some. May try. Heide is one link that came up. goneraw.com probably another place to start.

You won't ever be short on raw recipes.

I make raw mashed potatoes out of cauliflower. I blend the cauliflower in my blender using the minimum amount of water needed to make a smooth puree. Then I drain the excess water out of the cauliflower puree using a nutmilk bag.
Then I mix the cauliflower with salt, herbs (chives are great, so is garlic), and nut butter or melted coconut oil.

OH YEAH! LOOOVE mashed potatoes. i havent tried making any of them yet but if there is ANY way i can use actual potato as part of the recipe i would love that. i know about making it with califlower ....maybe a mix of the 2 might be interesting.
and oddly enough i was in whole paycheck this afternoon and spotted actual YELLOW califlower. it was the colour of mashed potatoes with butter in them.
just this nice inviting buttery yellow.

i know its probablly just the colour but I wonder what mashed would look like made from THAT variety. LOL

I made it during my earlier time RAW. I had to eat it for a week until it was gone. I should have had a Smoothie.

For me, meatloaf and mashed potatoes is one of those things I would truly hesitate to try to "imitate" raw, because I can't see how it would be even close and I would be disappointed. So, I am waiting to hear YOUR verdict. Let us know when you try it.

Blessings,
Heather

i love raw food analogs. its a challenge to make them. i dont know how close
its possible to come to the real thing but we'll see. LOL.

i think i got interested imitators when years ago i once had some sliced tofu that was suppose to be vegetarian duck. it was SO like duck that i couldnt tell it from the real thing. in fact... i liked it so much i stopped eating duck all together.

now i know that was tofu but.... i bet there are seasonings and such to make raw foods do similar things.

i cant help that i like all my old comfort foods....and i dont think i have to give them up. i just want a reasonable subistute.
so i look forward to trying his meatloaf recipe. i'll let you know how it goes.
