DONT bring home sad junk (or atleast avoid it in your home)!!!!!!

by doing this when shopping:

Never shop while hungry , that can lead to IMPAIRED shopping! So eat a good raw snack BEFORE heading out...

MAKE a list , and when you find yourself looking to buy something you shouldnt ,INSTEAD get a few exotic fruits or veggies -so youll have that novelty ,w/o the yucky side effects !

Try taking a buddy with you ,if you have a raw freind near -if not ,try emailing your lists ,and what you ACTUALLY got?!

and of course try shopping on the OUTSIDE isles (unless you need oils, vinegars,or seaweed) -okay!!!

obviously , NOT bringing home your triggering cooked food is the BEST way to stay RAW ,but if the rest of your family eats those than give yourself spa/beauty treatments and yummy sweet fruits (dates, bananna ice creamect....) as a NEW habit to replace the old one !

(that is the best way to break bad habits!)

hope this helps!

Now, how about some more ideas for those of us who live with SAD eaters? :)

Hmm , you could put charcoal in your fridge ,to get a visual image of what would be going in your body and on your palette-next to a BIG bowl of cherries ::wonders what taste better::.......hmmm

I would do this if I lived alone but I live with my family still... My mom has been buying me more fruits and vegetables (shes being supportive) but my dad or sister dont care about health, they eat chips, cheese, burgers, meat, soda, all of that.... and they want it at home. My mom has to buy it because "I'm not the only one living here"... I've already tried to convince my family of better health choices, my dad is really against it because he likes what he eats, my sister can eat anything and not gain weight so she doesnt care right now, I worry for my mom because she is big and her body is sick, I am helping her all I can, Is there anything else I can do? Any advice?

I can feel you on this issue a lot. Honestly I would say in the past I have been so hedonistic about my eating that whatever urge I had I would just fall into it. My recourse is that I created a substitute food for whatever things I like to eat. Here is an example, I want a snickers or candy bar or something, okay so before I would run to the grocery store and buy like 5 candy bars and some packages of candy and eat it all at one sitting.

I found I just really couldn't overcome this urge so I tried not to fight it as much. I now get nuts, grind up about half of a green apple (till it creates a juicy fibrious texture) then cut up the other half. I salt the nuts and put the apples on top, then I add coconut shavings (no sugar added) and sprikled a few raisins. BAM after eating that I'm good, I don't even have the desire for a candy bar. Not even in the slightest.

I must have told my girlfriend 1000 times that "I'm not going to eat out anymore" but then I would be at McDonalds a few days later eating a big mac. Now she is shocked that I take her to the drive through and am not even remotely interested in her food. (This has honestly gone on for at least 3 years now)

Seriously it works. BTW in case you are having trouble with it I have found that what makes the difference between a so so raw meal and a amazing raw meal is really combining a few different tastes. I mean nutz and apples are okay but with coconut and rasins? ohh man I'm so happy.

My girlfriend tastes my food and then later tells me how bad she wishes she could have some. Honestly it's my opinion that pretty much anything that can be created cooked and processed can be created pretty close in taste raw and fresh. If you don't think so mention something, I'm up for a challenge.

Definitely find out what you are craving in general and create some solutions and if possible create some of them ahead of time so that when the craving hits you won't even care about that stupid bad of potato chips

- Peace

autumn , Im in the SAME boat as you (my parents eat like texans -nuff said ;) ) ...they will change from the inside ,or they might never change -but thats ok ,theyll make that decision.....

I dont EVER eat their sad food ,b/c I surround myself with such yummy fresh RAW food ,its just so good-I also have had A VERY restrictive diet since my gallbladder removal ,so maybe being used to self control before raw helps? plus if I dont eat mostly raw ,I get VERY sick ,so thats always a good incentive ;) ,but even if I could eat sad - ID STILL BE RAW :D
