Hey y'all

I am preparing for an extended cleansing and rebuilding phase in my life. I was 100% raw for over a year during my pregnancy and the birth of my son. After my baby was born, I was completely overwhelmed and reverted completely to my old SAD ways. I am done nursing now (or he is ;)) and am just feeling really heavy with the toxic way I have been living.

My question is: for an extended cleanse would a juice feast or a green smoothie fast be more beneficial for serious cleansing, healing and rebuilding? Maybe some combination?

I sure appreciate any wisdom you can offer.

Thanks!

;) Chee

I'm not the fasting pro, but if it were me, I'd probably do a combo. I'd start out with the green smoothies and then ease into the juices and then when getting ready to break the fast, ease back into green smoothies and then into whatever solids are recommended when breaking a fast.

Dread - how long are you planning on going? can you tell me more about your fast/feast starting tomorrow? I'm really very interested in hearing all about it.

Maybe I'll bit the bullet and join you...

I am getting ready to embark on at least a three month juice feast to lose weight (about 70 lbs). I was wondering if it is safer to do longer than 3 months if you need to and exactly how do you break the juice feast? I have the Graff's in Georgia (Sprout Raw Food) preparing my green smoothies. Should I eat some fruit or something along with the smoothies? I don't want to have any nutritional deficiencies. Thanks. Also, has anyone had eating raw get rid of stretchmarks? I read on another website about a woman named "purple jen" who ate and still eats raw, did dry skin brushing, msn internal and external and in about a year and a half got rid of all her stretchmarks!

This thread must have been reading my mind! I work up this morning and said to myself after Christmas (when Dad goes to TX to visit for a week ) would be a perfect time to do a fast! I have done a master cleanse in the past and it was good, but this time around I was thinking either a green smoothie fast or a juice fast - what a great idea to do both as a combo!

sorry folks been dealing with life and so i'm behind on the fasting threads.

okay to the OP... a juice feast will be the most healing of all fasting you can do and still have heaps of energy to care for that toddler of yours. (((hugs))) so that's what i recommend for you. a juice feast. you can, of course, do a juice fast or water fast but you won't have the same amount of energy and a heavier detox which i don't think would be best for your situation (at least what little of it i am reading in your post... remember i have limited information so my suggestion is purely based on what you shared) but you did ask what would give you serious healing and a juice feast will do just that.

so... that's 1 gallon of green and fruit juices a day and a gallon of water!

steflou, stick with blended smoothies... you'll be getting lots of variety i hope... and that will take care of all your nutritional needs!!! as for stretchmarks and weight release... i highly recommend you add 1-3 T of MSM powder to a glass of fresh squeezed oj every morning. i get mine from here (http://bio-alternatives.net/msm.htm) and after releasing 145 pounds in a year... i don't have any ugly skin at all!
