I believe I have candida overgrowth. For the past few months I have been eating a NO sugar diet. This includes fruit...the only fruit I have allowed myself is granny smith apples, rasberries, strawberries. There seems to be ALOT of recipes with bananas, dates, etc. Has anyone else dealt with a yeast overgrowth problem, and should I still avoid the fruits that I love? Can anyone give me some tips as to what you've done to clear up this problem. Just to let you know, I really only have a skin rash that is chronic, (no intestinal problems that are debilitating, as some can suffer from) and seemed to only clear up when my diet was very strict and free from all sugars....but I was still eating meat (fish) and some processed food, and definitely eating cooked food......thanks in advance.

Jinjee for one had found that when she was 100% raw, this challenge went away. When she ate cooked again, it came back. If you do a search here, you'll find more info on this from others and I'm sure you'll be hearing from others who've joined since who can assist. :)

It seems when I eat a high friut & veggie and low nut diet I keep my candida under control. Unsoaked nuts seem to be my down fall with candida. When I soak them I have no problems BUT if I eat hand fulls of unsoaked nuts it flares up. So that tells me it's the FAT not the sugar that is triggering it... for me. Everyone is different so experiment with your food and see what works best for you.

Angie

This is something I've heard (read) from others also.

You have to watch the fat for candida. If you have to eat fat, have it at night and not with fruit. Eat all the fruit you want, without the fat. Fat holds sugars in the body longer, thus causing the candida. Link:

What makes you think your problem is Candida?

The dr. gave me a prescription for fungus, an oral prescription of Lamisil (this is a foot rash, but only on one foot) the rash did not go away, and 2 HFS/herb store owners told me it was probably candida overgrowth. I have taken several tests (questionaires) and I always score high. Everything I've been told is to stay away from white carbs, and all sugars, even fruit. The only fruit I've been told that I could possibly have is granny smith apples, strawberries, rasberries, lemon, lime, grapefruit, and kiwi. What kind of fats are the problem....even nut fats? Now I'm really confused...... :o How exactly do I do a search here? I'm very willing to do the research.......

You can click on the banana at the top of the page for a search. There are many posts about candida.
Good Luck.
