Hi out there

I just wanted to bring to the attention of people that i think these sheets might possibly be poisonous. I know for a fact that teflon coated saucepans etc are very toxic and leach out chemicals when cooked. i am wondering too if these sheets might pose a risk too, i know they (sheets in dehydrators) dont get nearly as hot as stove etc but still......i would be thinking there is a better alternative that is safer? anyone have a view on this or proof they are ok and safe?

Non-scientific intuitive response: I'm comfortable with them since I use them at such low temperatures and I use them some, not much. However, I park the Ex-calibur in the garage and the mice had a field day with them teflex sheets! Yuck! If they get sick now, I"ll quit using the teflex sheets......

I bought my Excalibur about 3 months ago and the sheets I ordered are called Paraflex....? *Ü*

ive found that stuff actually dries more quickly using parchment paper instead of teflex anyway...

I didn't have mice invite themselves into my Excalibur but they enjoyed the teflex sheets to the max. I washed them good, used them since, but have to fight with the holes they made sadly. Pricey to replace so getting use out of my teflex still. I don't use it much however.

Two of the 4 teflex sheets I had did not make the move somehow along the way. I do have a large amount of parchment, so will be trying that suggestion next time I need to dehydrate. Any sticking issues to note?

ive seen a few posts where other people have have problems with sticking, but i havent. ive even resused the parchement if i was making another batch of the same thing right away, and i found the parchment to allow much faster drying, and less chance of fermentation. maybe lightly oil the parchement if concerned about sticking?
