Ok....we had a dentist apointment today. We go every 6 months for a checkup/cleaning. My baby went today (4years old yesterday!)

the verdict:

He has stopped grinding his teeth.

His bite is good - how his top and bottom teeth line-up

AND ZERO CAVITIES!!!!!!! :D

My pediatric dentist knows I'm a health food junkie ha, ha. The hygienists are always asking me questions when I go into the office. It's like they're just waiting for me with their list of questions.

I WAS WONDERING WHAT YOU CAN TELL ME ABOUT HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?

HEY, CAN YOU RECOMMEND A BOOK ON JUICING???

Then I get the same questions I get at every 6 month visit:

WHAT DO YOU MEAN FLORIDE IS A NEURO TOXIN????

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR CALCIUM???

TEETH AND BONES MADE OUT OF WHAT, ARE STRONGER THAN WHEN MADE OUT OF CALICUM???

YOU KIDS DON'T EAT REFIND SUGAR??????? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??

Oh, oh ya and....AND we had an apointment yesterday with the orthopedic doctor for his broken arm. Poor little guy, his cousin was rough housing with him and gave him a push and with much force he flew backwards and fell on his elbows creating a compression fracture in his humorous just above the elbow. He's been in his cast for 3 weeks now, just had the pins removed yesterday (HOW BARBARIC!). They told me that he is making new bone so fast and well that they are going to remove his cast ahead of schedule!

I've been working on teeth issues for my own sake and my kids.

anyone got any imput???

Any input??? You are doing a great job. Congratulations!

My two boys who eat high raw, also don't have many dental problems. My daughter, who is a tougher nut to crack, has had quite a few cavities.

Keep up the good work!

I also think you are doing wonderfully.

I went to the dentist yesterday for some deep scaling and cleaning for gum problems I've had for years. A few years ago I had a tooth filled w/ composite and there was a small hole that didn't get filled and became absessed. Lucky for me, it drained outside the gum. Soooo, two dentists in the last couple of years told me I needed a root canal and/or extraction and implant. I'm rather opposed to them packing my teeth/gums w/ poison sooo, went about my business eating well, etc. The tooth broke a few months ago. No pain, no problem. New dentist. Took x-rays. Said they want to cap that tooth. I asked about the abcess. Ummm, abcess? When? Where? We don't see any abcess. Did some tests on the tooth that's left. No problem.

Yesterday when I was getting the deep scaling/cleaning I was told she "wants" to anesthetize my gums. Ummm, why? "For your comfort". Don't think so. The uppers, which have few to no problems, I asked her to do first. IF I'm having problems w/ that, then we'll anesthetize the lowers. Basically I was saying "sooo, that's it? Carry on". She did. I don't use drugs ~ even aspirin. Haven't since 1980 when I gave up birth control pills. Previous to that, nothing at all for years. Since raw ~ and healthier, I'm looking to avoid even dental drugs...i.e. anesthetizing. I've never used their prescriptions for pain killers after.

It's nice truthkiller's son (and so many others) is/are experiencing true health ~ through "food as medicine". I think this is waaaaay cool and love to hear others' experiences like this.

Can you share what your kids like to eat? Maybe it will give me some ideas for my twins.

Thanks!

If I may be so bold ;), here's a couple of great posts by TruthSeeker that may, at least paritally, answer your question, twinyoga:

TwinYoga - My kids love celery or apple slices with cashew butter or almond butter. They also love sushi (well 2 out of 3 love it) and they all like the chili recipe. They like most soups and most pates. The zucchini hummus is great! Then of course, the desserts! All 3 of them love all the raw desserts I have made.

Blessings.

Thanks. Mine love smoothies, fruit salad, sprouted breads, almond butter, salads (they eat everything but the lettuce), cherry tomatoes, and the cookies.

They are not picky eaters, thank goodness.
