Hello,

I am a sauce fanatic! I have been looking online for a dip recipie, I have found a few but I used to mix sour cream with taco seasoning and loved it! I am looking for something along those lines (but am open to new things as well) Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,

Candace

Candace,

I recently posted this on my blog. It's easy and delicious!

Matt Amsden's No-Bean Hummus

* 2 zucchini, peeled
* 3/4 cup raw tahini
* 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
* 1/4 cup olive oil
* 4 cloves garlic, peeled (I added more, but I'm of the mind that there's no such thing as too much garlic)
* 2.5 tsp sea salt
* 1/2 Tbsp ground cumin

Throw all the ingredients into a food processor or blender, blend at high speed until creamy and smooth. Serve with flax crackers, veggies, as a sandwich spread, salad dressing...the possibilities are endless. I crowned mine with some fresh watercress, a radish and some paprika.

I like nacho cheese that is served straight from the food processor.

I second Aleesha's comment about the raw mayo. Only I can never get my raw mayo recipes (the kind that uses oil) to emulsify. Thankfully I found a raw mayo recipe that uses no oil.
1 cup pine nuts, not soaked
3 whole dried apricots (unsulfured), not soaked, chopped
6 tablespoons fresh water
1/2 teaspoon Celtic sea salt, fine grind
2 teaspoons raw apple cider vinegar
Blend all of the ingredients in a high-speed blender or mini-prep food processor until creamy, pausing periodically to scrape down the sides and help the mixture turn over. The finished mayo should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 3 to 5 days.
A few tips…
The listed ingredients amount to roughly twelve ounces of mayo.
If your apricots are not soft and pliable, you can soak them in a small amount fresh water, just enough to cover the apricots, for fifteen minutes or longer until they plump up enough for ease in chopping and blending. If you store your apricots in the refrigerator, they will become stiff from the cold but will usually soften up somewhat after being left out at room temperature for a while. If they still seem hard, then definitely utilize the soak method.
In addition to being used for spreading across sandwiches and wraps, Pinoli Mayo works well as a base for salad dressings and quick sauces of every kind. Let your imagination take you where it will. (from Blaqberry)

I second the Rawvolution humuus. I made it for a party this weekend (all SAD eaters except me) and it was eaten with veggie dippers. At room temp, it's soft enough to be a salad dressing, too. Very good with chips or crackers.

The ranch dressing that was posted a while ago makes a great veggie dip.

I love this hummus! It's my go to recipe when I don't know what else to eat. I've done different variations as well. Added a yellow pepper, olives, etc. You can't go wrong with this one :)

Thanks for posting the zucchini hummus recipe! I just christened my new (first!) FP with it, and it's awesome! I added a little cayenne to it, too (maybe too much). But it's totally delish. Now I just need a dehydrator to make crackers!
