Does someone know a good place online where I can get lucuma powder and mesquite powder? I found a "superfood coffee" drink recipe that I want to make with coconut milk, cacoa, lucuma, maca, mesquite & agave. I have everything but the lucuma & mesquite (never tasted these before). Thanks.

I can't answer your question about lucama and mesquite. Both those items are on my shopping list for the next time I go to RawVeganSource which is about 15 miles from my home. Now that I think about it, they do have an online store. I think it's fairly new, I've never used it. There is a membership fee of $10.

The reason I started to respond to your post is to ask you to share your recipe. It sounds intriguing. Is there ice involved or can it be slightly warmed for comfort on a cold winter day?

Have you tried Ginger's Best Coffee Ever? It's similiar, but no mesquite, and uses cashews and water instead of coconut. I make it without the lucama and yacon, yet it's still the Best Coffee Ever.

I bought my mesquite on amazon, from Matt Monarch's store "The Raw Food World." http://www.amazon.com/Organic-Raw-Mesquite-Powder-16-Ounce/dp/B00168WPAI/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1225225009&sr=8-1 It is a fair price and I loved the taste/texture/quality/freshness.

I'm from Peru, where Lucuma is from so I have had my fair share of it.
And I'll have to say it's the best thing ever, my favorite fruit by far.
It's kinda sand that you can only find it in powder form here because the real
fruit is so good, specially mixed in smoothies and such.
The taste is like nothing else.
God luck finding it.

i have found them on amazon.com
also, since they are sweetening agents in this recipe, you could sub them while you are waiting to find them online with another sweetener of your choice. i do find the mesquite adds a dimension of flavor in this drink, so if you can only get one- get that one.
:)

Thanks for that tip. I'll probably order them both from Amazon, I'm so interested to see what they taste like.
