Hi, I'm Wendi. I have eaten a diet of mostly unprocessed foods for a few years (if you don't count the times I've fallen off the wagon). Eating Raw is something I've heard of before, but never tried. I have a good friend, Karen, who is here somewhere.....HEY KAREN!..... She has done "raw" before, so I decided to buddy up with her and do the 30 day challenge. I may only last a week...but maybe if I make it that far, I'll keep it up. Oh yeah...I'm a 34 year old mom of 3 kids. We homeschool, and I love being home with them (most of the time) and love our church family that supports us. My DH DOES NOT understand all of my crazy eating habits, he eats poorly, but maybe he will one day make a change.....maybe if I just STOP cooking??!! LOL....anyway, looking forward to jumping in...look for lots of questions from me...that way I won't drive my friend crazy!

Hi!!
I am new to raw food talk, but I was raw once upon a time for four months straight. It was the BEST and most HEALTHY thing I have ever done for myself! I lost weight immediately, my skin became as soft as peach skin, and my acne completely disappeared. However, going through detox was a bit of a challenge... but stick with it through that and you will be amazed at how your body changes.
I have fallen off the wagon, but now I am back on again and starting my 30 day "challenge" today. I prefer not to look at it as a challenge, but more like a fun and healthy game of how you can stick to only raw foods in challenging situations!
Good luck! You'll do great!

Welcome Wendi, as Dawn39 said the people here are great and very supportive.
I may only last a week...but maybe if I make it that far, I'll keep it up.
I like how you're not putting too much pressure on yourself, I think sometimes when we do that is when we 'fail' (although that is a harsh word). Hey we are all human, which means we all make mistakes - is this not how we learn? I tell teh kids I teach that all the time I;d prefer them to make heaps of mistakes then to not try at all. So go for it girl and give raw your best shot and if you have a little fall, pick yourself up, and dust yourself off.
By the way I have a lovely partner that sounds a bit like your DH. Maybe one day the will 'see the light'.
Enjoy your journey

Welcome and congratulations on your decision to go raw. Are you following the 30 Day Challenge from Alissa's book?
Ashley, the "challenge" means that Alissa is challenging you to go for 30 days 100% raw. She believes that, if you do that, cold turkey, you have a tremendously greater chance of keeping it up for the rest of your life. By the way, welcome to you, too.
Be sure to search the older threads and read, read, read. There's a lot of information here. Of course, if you have Alissa's book, that's the real source for you.
