Ok, it never fails when I stop eating raw, my tummy bloats up as though I'm pregnant. :o The first week back to raw (with or without weight loss) my tummy goes very flat. Why is it such a noticeable difference in my mid-section? And does anyone else experience this?

Yes, I did experience this before. I think its because my body doesnt digest the SAD food and just stays in my stomach........like a brick.

I was experiencing this a couple of days ago-badly. I think my GI tract was detoxing and didn't want ANY food in it, so whatever I ate started fermenting. Also, two days ago I started feeling like I was going to throw up, and went and did a 4 Qt enema, which is basically like a gravity colonic, and felt a LOT better, but for two days, anything I ate started fermenting immeditately. I think my GI tract was just detoxing and I probably would've been better off just drinking water, or lemon water. but got through that.

Matthew Monarch says that colonics, or high enemas, (you can buy a 4 or 6 Qt. enema bag-they work VERY well), are very important to do reguarly. I am committing to doing them 2X/wk while I am first raw here. I agree with him about that.

I feel the exact same. It's even difficult to chew cooked SAD food now, and I feel like I'm not breaking it down properly unless it stays in my mouth for a long time!

i have read recently that if you are raw for any extended period of time when you try to eat cooked food or flesh food your body has a tough time with it because it has stopped making certain enzymes that you need to help you digest that kind of food.

if you were to go back to a SAD diet your body would start making those enzymes again. but thats a possibility as to why you feel like you do when you go off raw.

i dont remember where i read about this but i do remember thinking that it made sense. maybe you can check into it further if your interested.

just thought i would pass it along.

Moving your bowels efficiently & great digestion = flat tummy. :)
