Hi guys,

I have another quick question since I'm here. I've been eating salads for the last several days, and I feel like getting some variety. I don't have a lot of ingredients required for "difficult" dishes--goji berries and such are difficult to find around here, so I need to know the best raw recipe book with very basic ingredients and tasty recipes I can order off Amazon.com. I'm going to be ordering tomorrow, so fast responses would be appreciated!

Alissa's book and DVDs really got me started on my raw journey. I had purchased Juliano's book prior to hers and really only looked at the complex recipes. Jumped right into watching both DVDs and read her book within days. I write in my cookbooks, so as I made recipes, I tweaked to my tastes and noted any and all changes, additions, adjustments, etc.

Some recipes are more complex and have tried those much later than the what I call 'basics.' Having quite a few raw recipe books, Alissa's is still my fav.

Best I would have to say is Alissa's as well....her book and speaking with her has helped me so much ont this road to health & healing..it is huge and it explains alot about raw and the almost half the book is all sorts of recipes...they are catergorized into different types of foods...there are SO many to try and choose from so you never get bored...some are very easy and call for not a huge amount of ingredients and some are more in detail for larger meals and call for more ingredients....alittle of both...depend on what you want to have at that time...it truly gives you a wide range to choose from...let us know which one you order :)
Alissa's 100% hand down :)

Alissa's book and "Raw Food Made Easy" are my "go to" books for simple tasty recipes. Alissa's has so much more in it to inspire you to stay raw and answer all of your raw questions.

Jennifer Cornbleet's Raw Food Made Easy has food that is quick to make (no dehydrator) and uses food that you can find pretty much anywhere. Her salads are especially good!

I love Alissa'a book, but among my favorites is Nomi Shannon's the Raw Gourmet, and Rawsome by Bridget Mars. Mars has great recipes, she delves into the vitamin content of certain foods and she also has a section that tells you what particular vitamins and minerals can help cure.

I found that information priceless- i was doing a liver cleanse and all i wanted was tomatoes- up until that point i didnt even like tomatoes, only maybe in a sauce. after reading about tomatoes in her book, i found out they supported liver health- i didnt believe it to be purely coincidental bc my craving was so distinct.

I think learning little things like that while on the raw journey can really make you appreciate the body's ability to heal itself and help you understand your sense of intuition.

I love Ani Phyo. You can check her out on YouTube. I love her recipe book! I bought all the ones everyone says are the best, but Ani's style really fits my own at this stage in my life. Rawvolution by Matt Amsden is a great book, too.

Alissa's book is great. I have 16 raw recipe books. The one that gets the most use and has the largest variety of recipes, both simple and complicated is "THE COMPLETE BOOK OF RAW FOOD"
It's a compilation of over 350 recipes from 44 of the leading raw food chefs and raw foodists. My copy was published in 2004 by Healthy Living Books/Hatherleigh Press, Editor Lori Baird.

One thing that I really appreciated in my early raw days, was that it lists at the top of each recipe what equipment is required.

I have seen a new edition in the bookstore recently but didn't notice if it was a new book or just a new cover.

"Raw Food for Busy People" has easy to find ingredients, lists the equipment needed, and aslo has a lot of machine-free variations of the recipes.

I have Alissa's book and absolutely LOVE it.

However, after visiting Pure Food and Wine, I just had to buy the book (used of course!) It arrived today!!! There are photos of the recipes, and many of the dishes we tasted at the restaurant are in the book! I look forward to a weekend of uncooking from this book.

Raw Food Real World - thumbs up! There is even a resource section (like Alissa's)

I'm unable to order Allisa's book here in Canada (at least they wont' ship it to me from either this site or Amazon.co; :(

I was able to order Alissa's book shipping to Calgary. The only problem was that her stuff seems to all get shipped UPS and they charge you $30 customs brokerage fees regardless of the amount of the parcel. So her $30 book cost me $60.

Unless she can ship USPS I can't order from her.

I was able to get Alissa's book shipped to me in canada. You do end up having to pay a courier cost when the book arrives, I can't remember how much it was though.
