Hi folks!
I'm beginning this raw journey with the hopes of treating my PCOS symptoms. I desperately want to avoid birth control pills and fertility drugs, so I'm hoping that the raw way of life will help me avoid those.

Now for the TMI:
My symptoms include hair growth in weird places, horrible (like crying-and-fainting horrible) menstrual cramps, and very irregular cycles. I've also got the insulin resistance that comes along with PCOS, which has caused my "default weight" to apparently reset itself at about 50lbs too high, no matter what else I've tried. My doctor said I will probably need fertility drugs to conceive when we begin trying in a couple of years.

I've read a lot about the wonderful changes people have experienced with a raw diet, and I am wondering if anyone out there has had success with curing PCOS symptoms in particular. Any other advice is appreciated too.

Thanks and cheers to everyone!

Hi there,

Yes, going raw can heal your PCOS. I know I've read of women who have healed from it with raw before. You may want to do a google search.

Best of luck to you!

Blessings,

First of all, no, raw is not a "cure" for anything. Raw, movement, breathing, drinking pure water and getting sufficient sleep supports the body in healing itself.

As you eat more raw, you'll be receiving nutrients and enzymes which will assist in building and supporting the immune system and you'll most likely be eliminating the things which are causing your problems.

Symptoms are not the cause; symptoms are the signals that something's wrong. Once that something is eliminated, then the symptoms will disappear.
