Hi everyone! I am brand new at doing the raw thing (3 days so far at 99%--coffee is my weakness) and I have a newbie question:

Are frozen berries "raw"? I know the idea is to eat "living" foods, which makes me think they are no good, but then they aren't cooked, so that confuses me...help!

Thanks in advance! :)

I am new too but, from what I have learned as long as they have nothing added to them they are ok, and of course fresh is always best when it is actually fresh and not shipped from miles away. Hope this helps:)

I think in Alissa's book she gives the ok to fzn fruits that are organic without added ingredients.

I would highly recomend Alissa's book. It has all you need to learn about and be inspired to stay raw.

Whole Foods said Cascadian Farms is the only raw source of frozen fruit. But there could be others. You'd need to contact the individual companies.

I don't believe all frozen food is technically raw. This is was raised a few weeks ago and I don't remember the consensus. It sounds like you're perfectly safe with the Cascadian Farms. Frozen fruits and veggies can actually be fresher than non-frozen because they're frozen as soon as they're picked.
