I have been doing so great with working out and this week I feel BLAAAAHHH and can't get motivated! I am training for a 5k race on Thanksgiving Day. On sunday I ran (well jog/walked) 3 miles and did HORIBLE. Maybe that is what got me down. I took monday off as I was still tired from sunday. I went to run on tuesday and my legs felt like lead! I did a jog/walk for 45 min but most of it seemed to be walking. So I figured my body needs more rest so I took off working out wed and thurs and was going to jog/walk 3 miles today and I can't seem to get motivated to go! Is my body telling me to take more rest or do I just need a kick in the A** to get out there and go!
Sorry just needed to vent ;)

You just need to get moving. People were made to move ~ daily. We've gotten out of the habit.
Many years ago, people had to go out and hunt for food. They did this daily. If they weren't out hunting for food (or while they were), they were being chased by predators. The body needs vigorous movement daily.
While the men were out chasing or being chased, the women were out gathering ~ the were bending, lifting, carrying.
In my interview with my teacher (http://rawkinradio.com), he talks about how he and 3 of his closest friends have done over 800 continuous days of vigorous movement.
The problem with most of us (myself included) is, we've not trained our bodies to do this by ~ doing it.
Also, from what I'm reading here, you're just walking/jogging. Do something different. Get some kettlebells and/or Indian clubs to swing; do some yoga, Turbo jam, Zumba or just dance! Get a hula hoop and/or rebounder. Change up, make it fun and you'll WANT to do it!

I also workout on the total gym and do free weights. We were going to cancel our membership at the gym but now we decided to keep it so I will be going back to the gym again. Maybe on days I am not running I can use the elipitical trainer or bike.
I listened to the interview and that was a good interview! thanks!

Is it fun for you? Do you WANT to do these things?

You're welcome. :)

My problem is I get bored in a gym! I love working out outside. I don't mind the elipitcal or bike but would much rather workout in the great outdoors. I plan on doing cross country skiing this winter and have always wanted to try snowshoeing. I have a friend that wants to teach me how to snowboard...uuugggh... I will probably break a leg

And, you probably wont.
O.k., so, quit the gym and use the money you would spend there doing FUN things. Go to YouTube and check out zenkahuna. Almost all they do outside is FUN! Get some ropes and play; kettlebells, balls, etc.
How old were we when we stopped playing? time to play again! :D

Could this be a subconscious reaction to your upcoming visit to see your family? I know that when there is something like that approaching I have to fight to get out of bed each morning. Just a thought.
Blessings,
Heather
