I was so thrilled that something I had put some energy into was realized. Our office was looking for new clients and I was hoping to find a holistic doctor. We found one, and he hired us. Now, before I even finished the job they called to say they found someone else and won't be using our services.:(. We had spoke to the staff, but the doctor in the meantime met the other accountant. I was working very efficiently and had the job about 75% complete. The sad thing is that, its kind of like being raw, in that 99% is very different from 100%. I don't form my oppinions and recommendations until I have all of the facts. So even though I am giving them what I have done so far, it is so incomplete that it is not really useful. They said they would pay us for our work to date, so I am not losing that. What makes me sad is that I can't show them what my best is.

I am really depressed....

Oh hun don't be depressed... Sometimes things like this happen to prepare us for the real deal, and to help us remember why we are doing what we do!

Good luck to you, my dear, in all that you do <3

Well, you can waste time being depressed ~ or not. Your choice. I say grieve the loss, pick yourself up and open up to more good.

After not dating for many years, the universe sent me the same guy I'd gotten rid of ~ numerous times until it (the universe) realized, I meant what I said. I wasn't willing to settle for less.

This person/company, whatever, wasn't right for you. The next one(s) will be.

I honestly believe that what does not kill me make me stronger. I have been through horrible things and come out stronger. In 2006 just before Thanksgiving the company I worked for of 10 years closed it's doors, a few weeks after that I found out my Mom was going to die from lung cancer that spread to her brain. 4 of the shortest weeks ever after that she was gone :(

That was the worse few months of my life and I was so depressed. Eventually it passed and I am stronger person for it. You too will be ok - and something else better is always in the future.

I am so sorry that it didn't work out! I am a business owner and listen to a lot of inspirational and business info to keep me growing. Something that I heard that has helped me a lot is, "believe that the next bus is coming". The person that talked about it was pointing out that to do well in business, you need to believe that the next bus (i.e. contract, job, etc.) is on its way. Otherwise you feel too dependent and don't take the steps needed to acheive real success.

I don't know everything about your particular situation, but I do understand feeling disappointed about something not working out the way you thought it would. I wanted to share what has helped me -- so, here's to the next bus!

Regarding not being able to put in your best work, that is tough and never feels good. I understand your decision though and am glad that you will be paid for your work to date. All the best! Z

i love what revvell said to you. i agree fully.

AND you have no idea... that doctor may see your work and recommend you to someone else. after all... you don't have equanimity... the Universe does!!!

Thanks for the replies. I had one thought occur to me this morning, is that maybe I was meant to meet him to help somebody else...my ex-husband is very sick with liver problems and I think this Dr. can help. So maybe that is what was meant to happen.

I will wait for the next opportunity to arise. It depresses me because I fear for my job, my boss is thinking of retiring because he is that age and because the economy is so bad is basically working for free. Not only that, he has had to put in his own money just to make payroll. We let two people go and are working with a minimal staff. I have been preparing myself to take over when the time comes, but I don't really feel that I'm ready yet.

What I thought was a failure has turned out not to be so. The client that left came back. I have now finished the job and they are happy!!!:D

In this economic times, every client is important, but this one was especially important to me because the owner is a RAW VEGAN!!!:D.

Sorry to hear about the let down, but trust something better is coming along. Usually when something doesn't work out, it means room is being made for something spectacular that you didn't expect or maybe forgot that you put out there. :) Sometimes we cannot see the whole picture and there possibly would've been some negative impact to you working for them for example. The Universe works in not so mysterious ways.
