after my 2nd water fast, i came down w/ cold like symptoms a few days afterwards. sneezing, coughing & constantly blowing my nose. i read an ebook from soilandhealth that health can be regained or improved, if the individual would eat more fruits & nuts, take air baths & allow the skin to get a lot of air... open windows & wearing less clothes outdoors.

air baths are out of the question, b/c i believe my neighbors would just enjoy it too much of maybe call the police. either way, i didn't like the scenario. i don't open the windows at home unless it's not too cold, b/c my mom has the heat running. so i wear a T & jeans going out about an hour or more a day.

it's almost like winter around here without the snow. i probably cough 4 times a day at night now, still blow my now, but it feels more easy than before. before i felt like it hurt to blow my nose quite a bit & i had to use some exertion. i generally feel better... can't really explain it. the only thing is it is friggin' cold! i can tolerate it.

the interesting this is i would use to have about 4 layers on around this time (yes! really!) and i would never get warm. but now here i am, w/ light T & jeans going out. i'd do the T & shorts, but i would like to blend in w/ society to an extent.

i wanted to see if anyone has tried this or know of any research on this?

Nope, have never experimented with that, but have you thought about using a neti pot? That will kick your runny nose, throat thing up in no time. These are GR8 items to have around, especially now with the icky germy season upon us.

neti pot? i've heard of those. sounds cool. :)

over @ S&O, there's also a guess about why so many people get sick during the cold season... more consumption of mucus-causing foods, more layers of clothing & less sun exposure.

I haven't heard of that, but... I hate to wear a coat. I will do it in the dead of winter if I have to be outside for a long time. And I generally do take a coat with me, but most of the time I don't wear it. Luckily here in WA it doesn't get to freezing too often like it did in NY or MA. If I am just taking my daughter to the dance studio or going grocery shopping or some such thing, I usually will not wear a coat. People don't usually look at me weird or anything.

Last time that I was in the U.S. I tried to get one. I assumed that I would find one in Wild Oats but they did not have them. Where is the best place to look.
