OK, for going on 2 weeks now, I can't find ANY organic romaine locally. Not heads, not hearts - nothin'.
Houston is way too ginormous for me to go trotting all over town looking, but my usual haunts and the other places near here I've checked haven't had any and I'm seriously jonesin'.
I did find some browning chopped non-organic romaine in a bag but... you know, yuck.
Can y'all get organic romaine where you live?
Is it just me?

I'm in San Diego and I got mine at the farmer's market. Maybe you could look up a local farm and get it direct from them?

My co-op doesn't have any right now and the Farmer's Market was almost completely bare of produce - hurricane Ike messed things up for growers locally.
I did get some pretty green leaf but I miss my romaine.
Thanks for letting me know.
I don't get why we can't get Earthbound Farms here (or whatever).
I wonder what's going on!
Maybe it's just a weird coincidence but I go to Whole Foods pretty much daily, so I've been watching for it.

How funny, I found romaine, but I couldn't find any baby spinach at the store. I figured it was good to change it up any way. I tend to eat the same stuff over and over.

I had to go to three stores just to get baby spinach, too!

I found baby spinach at Costco that was organic, it is hard for me to find romaine that is organic that I can afford and the baby field organic greens have had those white mites in them the last few times i have bought them.

It has been hard for me to find organic romaine lately - have been using organic spring mix - funny you asked that because I was wondering what was going on :)

It's on sale at P&C where I am but I'm guessing you don't have those where you are. Organic 3 pack for $2.99. :)

Yikes! I really feel for you. Last winter, rommaine was my favorite green leafy vegetable. I would eat three heads a day.
Now I don't want it so much. I think I had a rommaine overdose. I tend to eat food in cycles, I've heard this described as "faddy" eating, lol, it's not a fad-diet but it works for me.
I hope you can get your rommaine fix soon. There's tons of rommaine around here that I just don't want. I wish I could send it to you. I'm more into dinosaur kale right now, yet, due to organic farmers having unusually bad problems with pests this year in my area, it is hard to get! It seems we always want what we can't have *sigh*. Or, "the veggies are always greener on the other side of the fence."

LOL LOL So true, RS.
I have a fridge full of dino kale right now, of course. ;)
