Any women out there who could advise me would be oh so appreciated. Before going raw I was diffently having menopause symptoms - my periods were erratic and abnormal, my emotions were everywhere and since going raw my periods have balanced out to normal which is confusing me ..... I'm 48 y/o but, I have had very sensitive breast the last couple of months. Before menstration this month my nipples were sensitive and even hurt a bit along with breast sensitivity. My breast have continued to be sensitive and feel more full to me. My period was over 2 weeks ago. I guess I better make an appointment but, I was wondering if there were any other women who've had similar reactions becoming raw. I can't be pregnant - hubby is fixed.

Thanks so much in Advance :)

I'm 49. Have done OTC test kits (although I've read they are not very effective) that say I am not in menopause. I did have an 18 day period some time ago and was told it was just my age. I have since been using wild yam cream and taking black cohosh. Things have evened out.

The only time my breasts hurt and became fuller was when I was pregnant.

Jen, I wouldn't want to say anything that keeps you from getting an expert opinion. You have to follow your intuition.

That said, I started peri-menopause 5-6 years ago. I'm almost 55 and still not in menopause because I haven't gone a full year without a period. Six months has been my longest stretch without one. There were months when it seemed I was in perpetual PMS. There have been weeks at a time when I felt intense PMS symptoms, especially the breast tenderness, sometimes followed by a period, more often not.

Maybe I would have gone through all this anyway, but I think my raw times have rolled back the clock and kept menopause from setting in.

For sure being raw stops my hot flashes and the worst of the memory blank-outs. If you don't know what I mean by the memory blank-outs, I hope you never do. The day I forgot my PIN number was the day I finally understood about that.

My hubby reminded me tonight that I had this happen before like a "false pregnancy" a couple of years ago. Still have to make that appt.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's helpful for me.

Wow Knitster, you just described some of symptoms and I am so grateful. I don't feel so crazy or scared. Thank you so much.
However, I will/am still going to go get my mammo and pap done. I think that's important and I've procrastinated it to long and this prompting me take action.
