Both are great and basically the same! In my area the costco has a better organic produce section! I get all of my stuff there! Except nuts and seeds.... but somtimes when im in a financial jam and play the "I dont care if they are 100% raw" card... I get some nuts there too.

Costco, definitely! I haven't lived near a Costco for a few years now, so I've had to settle with SAMS. On the surface they seem really very similiar, but Costco offers a larger variety. Their produce (although not raw when we lived near one, so I didn't fully appreciate it) always looked more fresh then it did/does at SAMS.
I have membership to both. Sam's Club and Costco are not owned by the same people. Sam's is owned by Walmart. I truly enjoy Costco the best. The prices are usually better than Sam's Club. They also usually have fresher produce and I have actually found more organics for a great price at Costco. Once in while I have found frozen organic blueberries and raspberries there. Sam's is ok, I have a membership at both because our Costco and Sam's club ofen carry differant items. Costco is just a better shopping experience for us.:)

No. Sam's is owned by Walmart.
Where's carolg?? She's always raving about Costco!
I have both memberships as well.
Costco offers more than Sams Club but the prices at Sams Club are better on most things.
Costco carries things such as raw vanilla beans, Lara Bars, cold pressed (milled) flax seed and a few more organic items that Sams don't carry.
I generally get a better price on olive oil, nuts, springmix, fruit etc. at Sams Club. So it really depends upon what you are going there for.

I think Sams and Walmart are owned by the same holding co?
We have both Sam's and Costco here and I prefer Costco's selection. My husband used to have Sam's membership until Costco came here. Costco has a wonderful selection and I like the quality of items.
Before I got my Costco card I asked them for a guest pass to look through the warehouse and see the goods before I signed up for a membership.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. We had a Sam's membership for years but let it lapse. Then a Costco opened, so we joined. Then the Sam's Store really expanded and added a lot more and my husband wanted to go back to them when our Costco membership expired (sounds like the Young & Restless).
We never really shopped much at either one, but I've been really making an effort to get more organic stuff. I get some organic and bulk items at Sam's, but I keep hearing about things at Costco's that I don't see at Sam's.
Our Sam's is up in a few months so I may see if Costco has a free pass where I can go in for a day and look around.
Thanks again!

I like Costco because they are now have many organic options. I have been to Sam's club in years....they may have several organic options now too. If someone goes there and finds that that is so.....I'd be interested to know. Ours Sams club is much closer than Costco and you all know how it goes with gas these days.

The Sam's and Costco closest to my house are just about the same distance from home and are on the way home from work. But Costco is much more convenient to get to, being right off the highway. On the other hand, that's the only Costco in the area and there are several Sams, one close to where I work and another on the way home from church.
decisions, decision.
