My dear friend has a hiatal hernia and she is interested in going raw to help treat it...she is only 22 and is seeing multiple doctors constantly, and she is beginning to feel hopeless and depressed..

does anyone know of any info that could help her? Foods to incorporate or avoid? Or any alternative medicine sites that might be helpful?

I want to do anything I can for her..any advice would be VERY appreciated.

Here's my understanding of this whole thing. We as humans have gotten away from nature therfore we have caused ourselves a lot of pain and agony with diseases. Once we return back to our intended way of life, everything will correct itself in time. Encourage your friend to convert to a raw lifestyle for overall health, not just to cure this one problem. That way once this goes away she doesn't return to poisoning her body. I have cure myself from Asthma, Allergies, & Obesity. I was discharged from the Military B/c of all 3. I couldnt run a lap if my life depended on it. My high weight was 215. I am currently 135lbs. My longest distance in one run was 6 miles. Asthma and allergies are of the past. After the 1st time I went raw they havent returned. So please encourage her. This is the way to superb health. If all else fails ( and it WONT) you feel great! I'm cheering for you guys!

Good job Terah!

As for the hiatal hernia, I think it is highly possible. Your body is always trying to correct itself and you just have to give it the right condition to do so. Hiatal hernias are usually a result of stomach spasming up through the diaphragm due to hidden food allergies (or non-hidden food allergies for that matter). .. which are usually from wheat, dairy or any other possible allergen.
My aunt has one and she has been following my nutrition plan that I give to clients and she already feels so much better after only a few months!

I've actually heard of someone curing a hiatal hernia with raw food, so I think it's possible.

I used to work for a chiropractor who worked with Hiatial hernias. He said it's when the diagraphm gets stuck up near the stomache. He would just pull it down. One of the exercises to help this is:

Lay on back. Place a heavy book like a phone book on stomache and lift the book while breathing in or rather push your stomache out while breathing in. This will allow you to use the diaphragm and some times help free it from restrictions.
