I understand there is a book called "Twelve Steps to Raw." In fact, I have read it. As a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, I think the book "Alcoholics Anonymous" is a better explanation of the twelve steps, but it seems to apply only to alcohol.
Are there any twelve-steppers here? Is anybody using a twelve-step approach to raw food?
Just curious.

Wow, Ron..
Yes, i think that a twelve step program would be incredibly helpful for those who want to go raw and have never done so..
Maybe you have been getting the other responses from people who do not know what you are referring to..
i think most of us have had to admit ,at one point or other, that we are addicted to different foods..or that is sure is hard to leave the habits.
. and need help to conquer the addiction/attraction,etc.
Someone ought to write a real "twelve step program" (based on the one developed years ago for AA)for those wishing to adopt the raw food lifestyle..
PS.not criticizing Victorias book..It is a good one.. !

Spiceyfull,
I have already read "12 Steps to Raw Food," as well as "Raw Family." I think I understand that Victoria Boutenko is saying that she and her family needed to make a complete and permanent change away from SAD. She also explains that she did it! But she doesn't explain very much about how she did it!
I am a sober alcoholic. I haven't had a drink in 21 months. That is something that I could not do before, but I had to adopt a new way of thinking in order to do that. I believe it is going to be the same with me as to Raw Food.
There are lots of people who can just read a book and watch a CD, then go out and change their lives. I'm not that way. I need support, constant reassurance, and a new set of ideas. The brainwash I have internalized from the mass media has not worked for me. I seem to need more than just a book or a CD.
That's the point of my post. I think I'm looking for like-minded people. I'm trying to build my own 12-step support group of 5 or 6 people willing to try a 12 -step approach to raw food.
Have you had any experience with the 12 steps?
Ron
