Sunflower sprouts, grown to about 2 inches in length, make a delicious pasta when topped with a macadamia-nut alfredo sauce.
Mild tasting sprouts, such as alfalfa and clover, make a wonderful addition to juices and smoothies.
Spicy sprouts, such as radish, garlic, or broccoli sprouts, can be dehydrated, powdered, and used as a flavorful condiment to sprinkle on all your food.
Sprouted wheat, quinoa, buckwheat, teff and other grains work beautiful in raw bread recipes.
Sprouted lentils and sprouted garbanzo beans can be used to make raw hummus and dips. Be careful with the sprouted garbanzo beans, because some people lack the enzyme to digest them and can end up having a lot of gas. Lentils are much easier to digest and taste just as good as garbanzo beans in a raw hummus recipe. You can also use raw sprouted lentils to make lentil soup, just throw them into your favorite raw chili recipe. If your raw chili recipe is really spicy, then the acidity of the pepper in the chili will soften the sprouted lentils to a mushy, cooked lentil consistency. I love this kind of raw soup.
Have fun with your sprouts!

Hey everyone,
I've become such a huge sprouts fan and find every possible way to use them. I have a video from a past "Green Up Your Diet" class that I did with a guest Chef Alicia Ojeda on making sprouts delicious. I make this spicy spirulina dressing and a delicious sprout salad on the video and we even teach you how to grow your own sprouts for pennies.
I don't normally send out the video to people for free but if you sign-up on my mailing list and put in your comments that you found out about it on here, I'll send you a link to the video. You can visit my websites at http://www.greenivore.net or http://www.elivinghealth.com
Also if you're in the Bay Area in CA, next Sunday I'll be teaching a class on how to get more greens including sprouts in your diet. Called "Green Up Your Diet". October 26th 1:30-5:30pm. Visit this link for more info: http://www.greenivore.net/classes.html
Have a great day!
Love & Light,
Chef Dina Knight
