Hi - Just a quick question....
Jamba Juice has some smoothies that are grouped under a category "All Fruit". I was out with my husband at lunch today and had one called "Pomegranate Paradise" It says, no dairy, no added sugar on the sign. Is this raw? Does anyone know? I did have a faint nauseous feeling after I drank it - like it had too much sugar or something.

I get those for my daughter. They seem to be all fruit. I always request "no boost". She was fine with the one you got, but she did say it tasted too sweet. She normally has the Peach Perfection. A couple of times she had the strawberry one with the banana and both times her mouth itched. We were worried because she was allergic to bananas but now shows not allergic. The Dr. told us to limit the bananas to twice a week and not on subsquent days. We have kept a food journal and have been careful. She has eaten organic bananas at home with no problem. I didn't realize it, but the fruit at Jamba Juice is NOT organic. This can be a problem.

Thanks! I wonder if the juice has been pasteurized as well? My guess is yes, but it beats drinking a milkshake or something! (I'm only one week into the diet - and feeling GREAT I might add!)

Jamba is not completly honest about what goes in their smoothies. Their non-dairy smoothies have dairy in them. We started out drinking them when we first started eating better and then we moved on when we realized our bodies were craving something more natural.

i worked at jamba and the juices are all from concentrate except for the fresh orange juice. they have one all raw smoothie--Orange Refresher. The other ones can be made raw by subbing fresh oj for the concentrated juice

They use whole fruits and make it right in front of you. So I don't think it is pasturized.

I don't think they can legally do that. Can they? What about people with food allergies?

I didn't know that. We've gotten juice from Squeeze and Grind. They claim to be just like Jamba Juice but they put sherbet or yogurt in everything but the OJ and that is fresh squeezed.

I checked their website and looks like they are making non-dairy actually non-dairy now. Last time I looked it was a couple years ago. They have some un pasturized juices up there too. You know which ones are because they have to post a warning that they could make you sick or something. Looks like they have more choices for people like us now. It's weird because they have a non-dairy and a vegan portion of their menu. You'd think they would be the same.
The last time I was there I questioned this. (Luckily they were not busy and I wanted time for my wheatgrass to absorb.) The only fresh smoothies would be orange or carrot. They even showed me the concentrates and bags of frozen fruit.
So, I ordered an orange, carrot smoothie and they added a slice of ginger that I brought from home!
