Last night I woke up only 2 hours after I went to sleep after that I woke a couple of more times. Its very aggrivating. Does anyone else have this slight sleeplessness? and is it ocurring since you went raw or before and after raw?
and about 4 or 5 hours before I went to sleep I did 2o minutes of tae bo and way earlier in the day i cut the grass and washed the car...
I sleep similarly to this every night waking up at 4 and 6... or 2 and 3.

When I was eating cooked, I would wake up at least 3 or 4 times a night, then when raw, I'd sleep throughout the night, but only need about 4 hours sleep.
Then when eating any cooked, I wake up several times a night again, so that is how it is with me.
although I have never been a good sleeper my entire life, (I think it was the caffeine) because when I'm eating any cooked, it's usually coffee and wheat and dairy.

I've never been a "normal" sleeper. More than 6 hours makes me feel very groggy. I usually slept about 4-5 hours at a time. However, I always felt a bit sluggish. I still sleep about the same length of time, but now I feel energized!

Everything I've read says you need at least 8hrs of sleep. I guess that's probably not true for everyone?

8 hrs cant be true for everyone. I couldnt sleep 8 hours if you paid me to.
Delerium, before going raw the first time, I was having such sleep issues I dreaded going to bed. It would take me hours to fall asleep and one little noise, I was awake and unable to go back to sleep. Also, I would wake every morning with intense neck and shoulder pain that would dominate the day.
Within a couple of weeks on raw, I would fall asleep the instant I layed down and would sleep a solid 5 or 6 hours and wake up full of energy that lasts all day.
This was one of the biggest gifts raw gave me, as I cant tell you whata relief it was to enjoy going to bed at night.
How long have you been eating a raw diet?

The first time I was 100 % raw, I would say 2 weeks into it, I was getting a "restless" response in my body and mind---kind of agitate to some degree. It feels like my body was trying release as I could literaly feel the changes. I ended up increaisng my water intake and doing more detox baths and making sure bowels were consistent. From what i understand, the body does heavy detoxifying when we are sleeping or during our sleeping ours.

Insomnia is common. I've had it my whole life. The only thing that really seems to work is working out about 2-3 hours every day (so, totally not doable year round). But even then if there is a lot of stress going on in my life I have trouble sleeping. I've learned to go with the flow. These are things that may help.
Work out hard for at least an hour on most days.
if you can't fall asleep after 15 minutes, leave the bed turn the lights on low and read something calming (same if you wake up in the middle of the night)
Keep your schedule regular (rise and go to bed at roughly the same time)
eat well (I think that's a "duh" on this board)
However, don't eat a large raw meal to close to bed time. It takes a while to digest those suckers. I've been kept awake digesting LARGE raw meals before.
Sleep in a cool room. Toward morning - the time to wake up - body temperature normaly rises. If there is a rise in body temperature during the night, you are likely to wake up. I keep my bedroom arctic at around 57 degrees but you may prefer cooler or warmer.
Hope this helps. Sometimes, you just have to ride it out

I find that the cleaner I eat, the less amount of sleep I need. I also find myself going to bed earlier, and rising earlier. Typically about 7-8 hours though is where i feel the best.
I have heard that the body has a 6 hour sleep cycle though...

Wow - insomnia and poor sleeping seems to be a common thread among quite a few of us. I too suffer from poor sleep habits and like sweetgoddess, would often dread going to bed because I would toss and turn and have very interupted sleep for hours.
I look forward to the day I awake as refreshed and full of energy as some on this board. I believe raw will help us get there...and yah, that made sense about our body detoxing while we sleep. No wonder we don't wake rested sometimes!

Hang in there then delerium. It wont take long and I am sure, barring any special circumstances, you will very soon notice an energy and sleep difference. yeah! :)
I too have noticed, as someone mentioned, eating too close to bed does effect your quality of sleep.
Blessings~
