Hi Everyone!

Yesterday when I was at work on the Airplane, I met Erin Moran (she used to play Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days)... Anyway, we talked about when Alissa came to the set of Celebrity Fit Club and the way the food was presented at the set.

Interestingly, I had been taking a photo of all of the RAW food I've been making since September and HAD THE PHOTO ALBUM WITH ME on the airplane. When I showed Erin the photos, she LOVED what she saw and said that the food on the set did not look like the photos I showed her. Personally, I don't think that they gave the food a "REAL" chance...especially because she loved the photos of Alissa's food in my album. Also, I had brought Alissa's Corn Chowder and a salad with me that looked and tasted DELICIOUS!!!

Now, I'm NOT a fan of Buckwheat, so any recipe in her book that uses Buckwheat I don't eat..., but there is such a variety of meals in Alissa's book!!! I wish that the Celebrities on the show would have given the food a chance and tried with with an open mind. From the photos Alissa posted on her blog, I can see that she did a wonderful job presenting RAW to them.

Additionally, thanks to Alissa and her wonderful book, I have lost 25 pounds!!! :)

I do think if presented with the food again, Erin will give RAW another try! It's too bad the cameras may not be rolling at the time!!!

Congrats ReneeH on your weight loss! I'm currently struggling with staying Raw and find myself getting discouraged. I only watched a bit of that show and I wish I could find the whole thing. The girl that was on Tyra's ANTM was very negative and turned me off a bit by her attitude. They weren't desperate enough to loose their weight, because if someone was giving me the support and help that they were getting, I don't think I'd complain like that!

I just got Alissa's book 2 months ago and I'm finding what I've made not turning out the way it seems in the book, but I'm thinking that maybe I'll make something and post it to see if everyone's finished product looks like mine. So far I've only done the corn crackers and attempted the enchilada, but both seemed to turn out not so good. I'm going to keep trying though, cause I need this to work for me.

I'm doing Raw primarily to lose weight, it's a struggle but I'm encouraged by this forum to continue! Again, congrats on the 25lbs GONE!

I think when its time for a person to accept anything, they will. I remember when I could not understand why a coworker of mine wanted to become a Vegetarian. Years later I became one. But at that time I had NO CLUE.

I think you plant seeds and someone else will come along and water it and one day it will begin to grow and they will produce fruit and become whatever the seed was.

So maybe Alissia planted the seed and you came along and gave it some water, its still alive and the next time you see her maybe she will be on TV talking about RAW............Have a RAW Day.

Spicefull: You are soooo right!!! I totally agree!!!

As a matter of fact, you're not gonna believe this, but ERIN MORAN just e-mailed me the photo that she took of us on the Airplane!!!!! :) I e-mailed her back and told her that I hope she gives RAW and Living food another try and I sent her Alissa's site in case she wants more information... HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!

ltcartwright: Please don't get discouraged!!! It WILL happen for you! Someone once said, "We didn't put the weight on overnight and it will not go away overnight..." ...and, that's sooo true! I still have another 25 pounds to go before I am where I need to be, but we can do this TOGETHER!!! I'll look for your blog so we can encourage each other! I think that's what Alissa has this site for!! :)

Did you get her DVD and watch how she prepares the food? Also, did you follow the 4 weeks of menus she gives to you and make those recipes first? You might try that and find more success. Most of the recipes I have tried, I've REALLY liked. Oh, there's been a one here and there that wasn't my favorite but that would be true for any cookbook.

I didn't mean to sound like I was giving up, I'm not prepared to do that. I believe I stumbled on Alissa's website for my breakthrough in getting healed and being healthier than I am now, so nothing's going to stop me from plunging ahead. I got the DVD also, and I go through it when things seem to be lagging for me. It always motivates me to continue so, it's just a matter of me trying things until I find the staples that will give me no excuse to turn to cooked foods. I'm taking my time to research and get this ingrained into my daily life, and if I slip, I go through the book and DVD again. I already found something that I absolutely adore, Pecan Carrot Burgers, so I'm making those in mega amounts to store in the fridge. I'm determined, so I'll succeed! Thank you all for your encouragement. If I get discouraged, I'll continue to post.

Renee, your work sounds fun. Do you like it? I'm impressed that you can stay raw, because it sounds like such a stressful job. Keep up the good work!

Hey Everyone!!!

Another interesting thing happened to me last night at work on the Airplane!!!! I met Toccara Jones...she's a model from America's Next Top Model and she was on the show when Alissa did the RAW demo for Celebrity Fit Club!!!!

The really funny thing was that somehow....I felt like I was gonna see Alissa on the flight last night from Houston to Los Angeles (even though she lives near Boston)... Don't ask me why...I don't know... Anyway, because I thought that way, I decided to put my photo album of her food that I had made in my bag and take it to work with me so that if I did meet her, I would show her the pictures of her food that I had made. Well, when I saw Toccara Jones (unfortunately, not Alissa) I thought, "HUMMMM...What an OPPORTUNITY!!!!!"

So, I took out the book of photos of RAW foods and showed it to her!!! I told her that I had seen her on the show and wanted to show her something. She looked at the food and said that it looked GREAT!!! I told her that this food is from Alissa's book!!! I had seen the show where she didn't even GIVE THE FOOD A FAIR TASTE, and told her how DELICIOUS RAW food really and truly is!!!

She said that the reason why she didn't try Alissa's food is that when she was on another show, someone took her to a Vegan Restaurant and she didn't like it and she thought that the RAW food would taste like that. I told her if she tried it she would have seen how WONDERFUL RAW truly is! I also told her that she could season her food the way that she personally likes it... For instance, I add Basil and Oregano to Alissa's marinara sauce...That's what *** I *** like...

When the conversation ended I felt that, given the chance, she will definitely give RAW another try. She loved the way the food looked. It's TOTALLY COOL that I have personally spoken with **** 2 **** people who were at the show Alissa did and had a hand in sharing how much I love RAW with them!!!

Boy, I just LOVE my job!!!! :)
