I looked in the mirror today and felt really happy about and grateful for the body I saw reflected there.
I am 5'2" and my body has a natural weight of 120-128 pounds (it fluctuates). I've always wanted it to be lower, yet when I let go and eat healthy, fast occasionally, and incorporate lots of excersize, this is the weight my body always returns to.
At times I've felt frustrated by the raw diet/lifestyle, because on a diet of low-calorie, low-fat processed foods I could maintain a weight of about 110 pounds or less, while on raw food I weigh about 120 pounds.
Yet I've come to terms with my body and I'm enjoying life more than ever. It feels good to feel good, and when you feel good, who cares about the scale?!
Also, I think that my figure has changed, weight has been redistributed, and my skin has a healthy tan color to it. I grew 3/4 of an inch taller. Through all the work I do gardening and all of the long distance running, I have become more toned. People look twice at me when they walk by. I seem to have a attractiveness that I lacked in my pre-raw days. So, for those of you who are out there who, like me, don't lose weight by being raw, try to come to appreciate all the other amazing things that raw living does for you! Eating raw is about waaaay more than mere weightloss. Sometimes I think that people who lose 100+ pounds get a lot of attention (and they do deserve it :) ) and that can make us non-losers feel like our raw lifestyle isn't doing anything for us.
I owe my life to raw. There's no way I would feel as happy, successful and at peace today if it weren't for the raw lifestyle.
