My son is now 7 months and 1 week old. He started eating solids at 6 months. He now has a cold. I am raising him RAW. I am breastfeeding still and he "only" eats RAW . I am not Raw. I don't know how he got a cold. I thought when one ate RAW they never get sick. Does anyone have any suggetions on what I can give him or what I can take to pass through breastfeeding to help ease his cold? I heard of Ginger, fenugreek, Lemon balm and some other teas. Might help. I am definatly not going to give him any meds. That is def. the last resort. I would love to have any input in this. I hate seeing my little man sick.:(
Thank You!!

there you got your answer: all the nonrawness comes from your milk :)
Hugs help a lot. Babies need lots of LOVE= hugs, cuddles, carrying them around, just being there for them. Lots of body contact heals as fast as possible. Good luck and get well soon!

As was said, your baby is eating what you are eating. You're not raw... thus, baby's not raw. Baby's breastfed and is going through a detox due to what you are feeding him.

Try Garlic Socks (http://www.the-natural-health-hub.com/garlic-socks.html). My friend has used this with her baby boy and it works. If you add the oil layer, please don't use vaseline, it's toxic petrol chemicals that should never touch your baby's skin. ;)

There are lots of reasons a baby of 7 months could seem to be sick. Teething can cause cold like symptoms, or it could very well be a virus. Truthfully, haveing a cold isn't really a bad thing, he is developing his immune system and we want them to be strong! It is very hard to watch our little ones feeling so poorly though! Hugs!
To help him feel better and recover quicker there are a few things you can do though. Eating lots of Vit C rich foods yourself, since you are b'feeding, oninons, garlic as well, since they are naturally anti viral.
Using Eucolyptus oil in a carrier oil (such as coconut oil), one drop of eucolyptus in the oil and massage it in his chest, this will help clear his airways. Warm baths to open his nasal passages as well, and you can drop some eucolyptus oil in the water too. If he doesn't want to eat, don't force it. Breastmilk will be his best nutrition source as it's very hydrating, comforting and contains anitbodies for him to fight with!
Hugs to you and him! Hope he's feeling better soon.

You can't totally avoid getting sick when being raw. It's how your body handles it when you are raw. My son has caught a few bugs since going raw but they are less severe and he gets over them quicker.
Do you have an update? Is your baby better yet?

I think this is normal for children to have certain cold for they are developping their immune system. My daughter had two cold as a baby and maybe two as a toddler. The two last one, she didn't have fever, but she was sleeping a lot. She then was mucussy and nothing more.
So, don't worry, just keep monitaring the temperature. Try to provide only milk until your child is done with the cold.
Best wishes
