OKAY! So I have been wanting to complete a water fast for a long time.. but everytime I try, I seem to fail on the second day! But this time I am determined, I want my body to feel good and clean and i absolutely love the raw lifestyle, so this will be a good jumpstart to get me back in! I think if someone else is relying on me to complete the 10 days with them, then I can do it :). Anyone want in? I'm starting tomorrow October 9th and consuming nothing but water for 10 days.. so it will end on the 19th. Thanks and happy fasting!

hi hows everyone doing on the fasting?ive only just joined tonight but would love to do one. This is going to be a silly question but the water fast is it just water thats it?or do you drink herbal teas too?and do you take it easy or exercise too?
thanks nicola.
yep. just water. exercising would be a personal preference. you can do it if you want. i've done 2 14-day water fasts. one w/ exercise & the other one w/o. i got the most cleasing/healing from just sleeping all day. lol.
one caution from my personal experience though. when i did exercise, i probably lacked energy for 2-3 days, b/c i think my body knew i would still be moving. so it didn't allocate too much energy towards cleansing and instead conserved to give "me" the energy to move about. on the other fast when i did sleep around all day, it was like my body knew i would be able to rest. so had NO energy whatsoever for MOST of the days. i could walk half a block maybe. going up & down stairs... more like crawling half way.

It's a great experience, isn't it? I loved my water fasts! The longest one with ONLY water was 10 days, followed by couple of days with freshly pressed orange juice.
I'd love to do it again soon!

WOOHOOO I made it to the full first 24 hours :) I am doing a straight water fast for 3 days. I almost made it when I fasted a year ago, but quit at 68 hours. This time I plan to go the full 72. How is everyone else doing with their fast?

Ooh, I would like to join the water fast. I'm on day 2 pre-fast just drinking straight green juices. I had green smoothies all day yesterday and they were wonderful. I plan on drinking distilled water for as long as my body seems to want it. Although I do plan to water fast for a least 10 days, I will keep it open and listen to my body. I look forward to sharing in the positive fasting vibe and energy. Thank you for starting this thread. :)
Cheers,

There are certain health goals I want to achieve and I have decided that with 67 days left in 2008, this is the time to buckle down and get it done once and for all.
Thanks to Microsoft Office Template website, I've printed out calendars of the remaining months of 2008 and taped to fridge. Since I live in a loft, there's very little that is "out of sight out of mind" so the calendars aren't hidden away.
So for those of you that actually keep track of when you started, all I can say is the last time I ate was last night around 10:30p. I've filled out my www.FitDay.com info so I can keep track of my progress, moods, journaling, etc.
My goal is to alternate between water and juice fasting. I plan to do 7 days water then 7 days juice then keep alternating until my goals are achieved.
I'm feeling happy, excited and inspired to get this done. My deadline is far enough out to be reasonable yet close enough to add a sense of urgency to get things done.

I'm starting my water fast today. Feel great so far. I think it helped to drink juices for 2 days prior.
Best wishes everyone.

RawHeaven -- I'm on Day 2 with 66 days until New Years Eve!
All is good with me, feeling good and looking forward to seeing the week through and then segueing to juice for a week before going back to water. Of course, that can change but I am committed to seeing this through and having all my health goals addressed before the end of this December.
keep it up, guys! i know everyone is fasting so different, well, besides the drinking water or juice only, but i'm talking about lifestyle & such. so it would be interesting to see who experiences what and why. :)
i swear all my fasts have been different, & i've seen different results b/c of it.

Raine, you're inspiring! I'm sure you will reach all of your health goals. I was going to talk a long walk today, but I'm feeling really light in my body right now. Think I'll rest today and walk tomorrow -- probably a good idea to conserve my energy. Best wishes!!!

It will be interesting to see all of the results when we're done. All of my fasts and cleanses have been different also. I feel like I heal on a deeper level with each one I do. :)
yep. that resonates with me as well the more that i fast. i can't wait for the day that when i fast, there's no furry tongue! :p

How is everyone doing today? I'm having hunger pangs and I'm really working on grounding myself. Keeping myself focused on my goals. Day 2 = rough so far. I'm glad I cleared out the fridge because I don't trust myself today. I need my fasting buddies positive vibes and encouragement!!! Thanks! Time for another glass of water. :o
teehee. you go get 'em, girl! nothing in the fridge? what does the fam. think of that? :p

I'm on Day 3 and so far so good. I'm down almost 5 pounds, my energy hasn't spiked but it's staying steady and I'm not lethargic even though I didn't go to sleep when I should have last night -- that'll probably hit me later tonite and I plan to listen to my body.
I haven't had a lot of thirst so I'm just drinking to the level my body wants.
Emotions seem good and calm.
All I can say is WOW. You all are such an inspiration, and I look forward to one day being able to do a water fast.

One of the benefits of being single. The fridge is all mine. :p
Doing much better this afternoon! Went outside in the sun, took a walk & ran some errands which took my mind off of my stomach.

So far so good as I'm now on Day 4 and only 64 days until New Years Eve!
I am down 6.6 pounds since I last ate on Saturday evening. My energy levels are steady - not unusually low like my first fast and not unusually high like my last one. Sleep is excellent. My mind gets some weird cravings but they are usually gone within a few minutes.
Everyone keep up the great work!

And happy with results. :)
I broke my water fast this morning. 2 days green juices + 2 days distilled water = 4 days total. My goal was to go for as long as possible and this is it. I was feeling hunger in the back of my throat which I learned from a professional fastician is one of the signals that your body is done fasting and is ready for solid food.
I wasn't seeking weight release, but to move more scar tissue out of my knee and to heal my colon a bit more. I was feeling backed up and now everything is flowing, flowing, flowing.
I broke my mini fast with cucumber juice and I'm currently sipping on water. I moved my bowels within 2 hours of drinking the cuc juice. I will continue juicing this week and I plan to water fast one day a week going forward.
Best wishes all as you continue on! :D

About New Year's Eve, I think it would be such a huge accomplishment to fast through the holidays. agh... something I'm thinking about, but not sure yet. We'll see what my body has to say. What say you, body? Me insane? No. Me love you. Me remove more critters with many legs from you. What? You forgot? They're scaring you? Help?!!!!
That's good news having your bowels move already after the fast. So toxins don't get back into your body, Crystal. I think that's the one thing that would have me consider doing a smoothie feast or fast versus water.

Thank you Oai. I think it's definately a good indication everything is in working order - well better even. I didn't do the SWF this time. I just drank water so it tells me my body will eliminate when it's ready during and after a fast. A smoothie feast would definately keep you moving. Good luck with
the remainder of your fast.
Day two water only for me.
I feel strong. I am hardly aware that I am fasting - it feels so natural right now.

hi. I'm planning on joining this water fast after my parasite herbs run out in a week or so. Is it in good order to do a water fast after a parasite cleanse? I'm looking forward to it. :)

I'm currently on day 6 of my water fast and down 10.8 pounds. Things are going great...good energy, sleep and absolutely no desire to eat.
I was intially going to shoot for 1 week water then 1 week juice and alternate like that until the end of the year, but since I feel so good right now, I'm going to carry on with water.
A friend of my on the CureZone.com water fasting board is currently on day 22. He's down 100 pounds since he started periodic water fasting this time last year and has gone from XXL to S. He's inspiring me!
