Hello everyone,

I am preparing for my first 100% raw challenge and I just received a huge order of bulk raw foods... I am just not sure what I should put in the fridge and what I can leave in the pantry.

Cocoa powder, cocoa butter and cocoa paste- do these all go in the fridge?

Nori Sheets- Do I put these in the fridge?

Shredded Coconut- Fridge??

Thanks and sorry if these are really stupid questions. I have never bought any of this stuff before and I want to keep it as fresh as possible for as long as possible.

Steph

You can store all of those in a cool, dark place and they should stay good for up to a year. Refrigerate for a longer shelf-life or if live in a warm environment.

I don't store any of those things in the fridge.

I, on the other hand, store a lot in the fridge, due to moths and mice (M&M's)!:D:eek:

I don't store most dry type items in the fridge except for nuts. I live in a warm climate and nuts seem to go rancid too fast. I wouldn't put nori in the fridge for sure because it would tend to get soggy. I have heard of storing cacao in the fridge because of the high fat content.

I pretty much store almost everything in the fridge unless there's no room. Sometimes the freezer. Keeps bugs away, insures freshness, etc.

Nori won't get soggy in the fridge at all. None of the seaweeds will.
