another dehydrator question

hi, just a quick Q about the excalibur dehydrator, are the trays quite sturdy? I only ask as I bought a cheap round dehydrator to try out drying and the trays are a tough plastic, however due to putting quite heavy items on it they have snapped. I have looked at the excalibur and see the trays are also plastic so was just wondering.

Also which colour is best, does the white one lose its nice clean colour, do you have to clean it more to keep it looking nice than the dark one?

I have put heavy items in there, like glass dishes w/cobblers and have put two trays close together, like one on one shelf and another empty tray on the very next one underneath. I've never felt like it was gonna snap.

I like the black. But that's my choice. I don't think it shows the food "dirt" as much.

hi Veganforlife, and thank you for your answer. its put my mind at rest :) i think i will probably go for the black too, i think white will need cleaning too much!

I love my black one. I also have an old white one and it wasn't any harder to keep clean than the black one.
